Vintage 1981 Shogun 2001 51cm road/touring bike - $450 (Fenway)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Shogun
model name / number: 2001
I bought this beautiful bike for my girlfriend and unfortunately it is a little too big for her. It is 51 cm or 20in and should fit someone between 5'4'' and 5'8''. If I did my research right, this is a 1981 Shogun 2001. It was one of the first touring bikes on the market and was only in production for a couple of years. This bike has the original Shimano Deore touring gruppo and Shimano 600 brakes. I also have the original fenders for the bike, which I removed. The bike is in amazing shape and must have been sitting in someone's garage for most of its life. I have installed new brake and shifter cables. I installed new tires as well. This bike was a great find and I will be sad to see it go. Hopefully it will find a loving home

There's a 53cm frameset local to me for sale on CL for $400.

Nice 78-79 Centurion Pro Tour. (Looks like a 54 or 56cm frame.) $310

https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...108610379.html

Edit: (No good shots of the front wheel from the side -- Fork looks a bit funny in one photo. I would inspect to make sure forks / frame aren't bent from an impact before purchase.)

That Schwinn is pretty but man it is YUGE!

I forgot to post this so it has been posted for a week already. 1986 Sizzling Peach Volpe!! It looks nice and not as sun faded as mine. $400 might be spendy but it does look super clean.

https://spokane.craigslist.org/bik/6103593946.html

Frameset has multitude braze-ons, XT cantilever brakes, triple chainrings, front a rear racks, Suntour Cyclone shifters. Brake levers are older Altenburger and not original but work perfect. Alloy rims with fresh Ritchey tires.

Teal/white Centurion Ironman Expert ('87-89?) in NOLA area

Vintage Road Bike - $300 (Carriere)

80's centurion Dave Scott expert Ironman
roadbike. Solid straight frame. Never wrecked Excellent for a fixed gear conversion or as road bike. Needs new tires. Everything else is in very good shape considering the age. Normal nicks and scratches for age. Always stored in home or garage.

Looks quite neglected, needing very thorough cleaning, lube, certainly new bearings etc. etc., but maybe the rusty chain and dust is making things look worse than they are. It's too small for me, too big for the wife, and too small for the nephew I'm going to build up a road bike for, but if this is a decent price (or could be negotiated to a decent price) I could potentially facilitate. I love this paint combo.

I've had this in my watch list for a couple of months just because I like occasionally seeing it float to the 'ending soon' list so I can look at it and admire. Every time, in my head: "damn that's tasteful af and I'd ride the hell out of it!"

I just know nothing significant about the marquee and I can get a LOT of bike for that price tag locally.

I don't know a lot about them but I think they were pretty good value for your money and were nice solid machines.

I think this one is about $250 over priced for an Infinity frame with a Light Action group. The pink is cool though.

MB-1...kinda expensive, to me at least. Don't know what they usually go for though. $650 & will ship.

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...114328478.html

"Checking if there are any Bridgestone fans in the DC area. One of my recent projects. Happy with the finished product. Ready to move on (I think) and clear the herd. Willing to ship via bikeflights.

1987 Bridgestone MB-1. This was the model/year that Bridgestone offered it as a drop bar mountain bike. Bike is a 20.5" seat tube and 22.5 top tube length. I ride most medium/large modern mountain bikes or 55/56 road bikes. I am 5"9" and it fits well.

Mix of New(er)/Original parts:
-Has original front and rear sun tour xc 9000 derailleurs.
-Nitto technomic stem (80mm)
-NItto Dirt Drop bars RM013
-Original Araya RM20 Wheels/Suntour Cyclones hubs.
-Newer Compass Rat Trap Pass tires.
-Rivendell Gold Shifters.
-Brooks Team Pro - Special edition
-Replacement Sakae Crankset.
-Replacement Tektro Cantilever brakes"
