This bicycle will be sold "as-is". It is a vintage short wheel base tandem built by Claud Butler in England either before or shortly after WWII. It has 120mm spacing in the rear and standard 100mm spacing in the front. It has had 48 hole 700c wheels built with Mavic rims and Surly hubs. The rear wheel is has two sided threading for single freewheels. There is no rear derailleur hanger, nor is the bicycle designed to have a front derailleur. The frame is made of lugged steel and all tubes and lugs are Reynolds steel. The frame is fitted with Chatter Lea/Brampton oversized bottom brackets and has an integrated headset with a grease fitting. The bottom brackets are oversized tandem bottom brackets. The saddles are Brooks. The front stem is a vintage steel Cinelli. The brakes and brake levers are G.B. Coureur. The cranks are Williams. Although every part comes apart, and the bicycle is mostly complete, it will be an extensive project.
