Vintage 1973 Colnago Super - Orange - $900 (Rock Hill, SC)

"For sale - vintage 1973 Colnago Super - I recently purchased this bike at an auction and discovered that I had a 1973 Colnago Super. This bike as well as a 70's Cinelli SC (listed separately) were purchased by a couple new in the early 70's and then they toured the US on these bikes. This bike still has the original orang paint and stickers. The frame is 51cm center of crank to top of seat post - I can take additional measurements if needed. The bike has Campagnolo Nuevo Record components on it. I would prefer to have someone come see the bike in person and take it. I am wanting $900 and will list it for a week on this forum before sending it on to eBay."

Circle A Cycles Custom Frame 58.5cm Chris King - $225 (Watertown)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
(google map)

condition: good
make / manufacturer: Circle A Cycles
Circle A Cycles

I ordered this bike from Circle A Cycles in 2004 or so and picked it up in Providence RI. I've been the sole owner (professional mechanic with 15 years experience).

This is a fast, fun, racing bike. Currently set up as a club racer but could easily be switched back to a race bike with a modern carbon fork (or the one included in the sale).

58.5cm TT ctc
58.5cm ST ctc
158mm HT
Deda zero tubing

Chris King Headset

Bike will fit "normal" components. English BB, 27.2 Seatpost, 130 OLD, 1" Threaded Headset.

Comes with threadless Alpha Q fork (original fork) it has some wear on it from derailleur cable rub.

I tried to take really thorough photos of paint damage. None of it seems serious. In general the bike looks good.

The bike was playfully painted with Circle A Cycles and Hand Made in Providence written in Esperanto. Chris from Circle A Cycles proposed this and it seemed fun. So far as I know this is the only Cirklo Cikloj that was Manokonstruo En Providence. Having said that the bike's probably ready for a repaint.

VINTAGE MOTOBECANE GRAND JUBILEE (Rockford)

https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/bik/6152180164.html

This is THE Huret 75th Anniversary Grand Jubilee with the Huret Jubilee front and rear derailleurs....not a later version in name only. Later versions had Japanese components. Purchased new 4/74, this bike in near mint condition and is all original except for seat post, and saddle. The free wheel was also replaced at some point. Also included are the proper vintage alloy Lyotard racing pedals with Christophe toe clips which were popular upgrades from the standard pedals. The Huret Jubilee front and rear derailleurs are original and in perfect working order. The color is a stunning red tinted clear over a gold base which makes it glow in the sunlight. All mechanicals have been regularly serviced. The frame is 24" (60 cm center to center). Weight is 24 lbs., very respectable for it's day. New Panaracer 27 x 1 1/8 gum wall tires. I am original owner, but I haven't ridden this beauty since 1989. It has always been kept in the house, never a garage and transported inside a hatchback car or van. I'm also including a 1974 issue of Bicycling Magazine that contains a review of the Grand Jubilee.

Best Offer

There was a lot of discussion on the fork of the bike and if it was out of alignment - I took it to a local bike shop and they put some specialized tools on it and told me that the fork was slightly bent but could be adjusted (it took them a while to come up with this determination).
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...upercorsa.html

And the front of that top tube sure looks bent to me.

Circa 2001 Maurizio FONDRIEST aluminum-alloy frame with Campy 10-speed Veloce gruppo and Campy Vento G3 wheels. This bike is glorious -- rarer than a Colnago or DeRosa and guaranteed to turn heads everywhere. It's the Ferrari or Lamborghini of bicycles.

Rides smooth and beautifully, accelerates like a bullet, climbs effortlessly, and corners on a dime.

Here are the specs:
Frame: Superlight-yet-comfortable aluminium alloy
Seattube: 58 cm center-to-center (about 61/62 cm center to top)
Toptube: 57 cm center-to-center
Groupset and brakes: Campagnolo Vento 10-speed
Wheels: Campagnolo Vento G3
Fork: Carbon Time straight-blade Club
Headset: Chris King
Handlebars: 3T 40 cm center-to-center
Stem: ITM magnesium The Stem 120 cm

If you don't know Fondriest bicycles, they're one of the great Italian makes, built by 1988 World Champion Maurizio Fondriest (see photo in rainbow jersey) and his brother. Think Colnago, De Rosa, Bottecchia, Pinarello, Bianchi. Think rare and special!

This frame's light and supple, yet still comfortable: It's not a cheap alloy frame that rides like a rock. Instead it truly soaks up the road, while still being fast and quick -- the hallmarks of quality, top-of-the-line aluminum.

We're selling it without the Crank Brothers Candy 3 pedals, but would throw them in for $40.

Looks like a 531 tubing sticker. It's probably good enough to buy for ~$100 if it fits. That's a big frame.

It's very well equipped, on par with a Gitane TDF, L Bobet, or similar high-end road bike from the 70s. The crankset and rear derailleur alone would net you the ask price on eBay.

"Denis Stafford" Custom made vintage racing bike - $500

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/bik/6163824593.html

Never heard of him before but I'm posting pictures for posterity so there's a historical reference.

This bike is a beauty! The frame is hand built by Denis Stafford, an English machinist/frame builder circa 1975. It was allegedly built for John Howard. I saw some pictures of him riding it way back when, but I don't know if he ever rode it in competition. The frame then hung in Denis' shop until I saw it in 1980. I negotiated to work for Denis for about $10 a week for about a year so I could buy the frame and order all the components. Under Denis' tutelage I built the bike from the ground up.

The frame is Columbus SL tubing with 100% lugless brazing. The seat tube is 24" and the top type is 33" off the ground. Check out the custom seat height adjustment--we drilled & tapped the seat pillar! The bike is equipped with a complete Campagnolo Nuovo Record Gruppo; Cinelli stem & handlebars, and Weinemann concave rims with DT 14/16 guage double butted spokes.

Note: the brake levers are Campagnolo; I put on a pair of cheapo hoods a few years ago when the original hoods rotted.

This bike rode like a dream; it was very quick and super responsive. With a little clean up it will make a great rode machine for you. Or, if you are into collecting it makes a pretty wall hanging!

I have this bike priced aggressively to sell quickly. I'm moving in a few weeks and I'd rather see my dear friend go to a good home than spend more years in another garage waiting to ride. So--don't try to bargain; just give me the money take the bike and hurry out of here before I change my mind.
