Vintage Bottecchia Team Record Columbus SLX - Campagnolo - $875 (Wakefield)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
(google map)

Late 80's Bottecchia Team Record bike in mat black and white with lots of chrome. Bottecchia made a range of frames, but this was their top model, crafted by the Reparto Course (race team) division. Quite possibly by the same artisans responsible for making the bikes Greg Lemond raced on.

This one is exquisitely made of Columbus SLX tubing with long, finely thinned cutout chrome lugs and a Cinelli bottom bracket. The entire frame was chromed prior to painting. It has a full Campagnolo Chorus group, except for the period correct Shimano pedals. The bike has Mavic Open 4 CD wheels with Michelin Pro 25mm tires in good condition.

The bike measures 55cm center-to-center for both the seat and top tubes, and just over a 32" standover height, Thereby best fitting someone around 5'9" to 6' or so. It rides wonderfully, very quick and responsive.

The bike has been used, but not abused. It has paint loss on the drive side of top tube and a spot near the right shifter on the down tube. There is some minor corrosion on the lugs, fork crown and chrome, as shown in the pics. This could probably be cleaned up somewhat with a little effort.

All in all, a beautiful and rare steel bike (very, very few bikes have this level of detail and workmanship) that rides as well as it looks and attracts a lot of attention. $875.

A PX10LE just popped up on Portlands CL. For our area bikes advertised in this price range usually sport safety levers, and stem shifters .

COLNAGO Decor Master Olympic 56 cm 30th Edition - $1099 (cambridge)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
114 CHARLES ST
(google map)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Ernesto Colnago
model name / number: Decor Master Olympic
size / dimensions: 56 cm
56 cm measured C-C seat tube. 56 cm C-C top tube. Full Campagnolo Chorus group (including hubs). Ambrosio Giro d'Italia rims. Iscaselle Giro d'Italia saddle. Pantographed stem.

Always stored indoors. I bought it from the original owner in Switzerland in like-new condition and rode it for ten days in France, then brought it back here. A few rub marks on the paint from traveling as visible in the photos. (In particular observe there is a mark on the head tube, on the down tube, and on the seat tube.) Chrome is marvelous shape. Minor wear on the bar tape. Tires have about 500 miles on them, and are in fine condition. I might have a new spare kicking around that you're welcome to also. One of the more gorgeous bikes I have owned.

Pedals not included.

Older Santana tandem. Sort of random parts but could be really nice with a bit of tlc.

Sorry, I apparently don't know how to post a link on my phone. Search "Santana tandem" on Chicago CL if interested.

I think this bike is very attractive. However, the size (a tad small), and the tubing ("Matrix"), prevent me from buying it. Not far from where I am.

Yeah, that's a beauty. A hair small for me. This would be a Rossin-made one, from the late '80s, correct?

Biemmezeta / Performance Campione - $324 (BelmontWatertownWaltham)

size / dimensions: 57 ctt x 56
***Yes it's for sale***

Biemmezeta ( BMZ) Campione private label manufactured for Performance Bike shop
Fits a 5-10" rider +/-

Columbus SL frame, Campagnolo dropouts ( stamped 57 [ctt] on BB shell )

Campy headset, Modolo Speedy brakes and levers are original
~Shimano hubs and derailleurs, 7x3 will climb anything you dare
~170 Sakae triple crank
~ Araya 700c boxed rims, ss straight gauge spokes
~28mm Bontrager tires (38's will fit)

well cared for classic vintage old school

Totally good to go, clean with minor scrapes, scratches and signs of use
owned by a cool old school cyclist cutting back after a life of adventure on 2 wheels.

BMZ was the go to contract builder for famous Italian builders ( Bianchi, Cinelli, Colnago...)
Their own private branding to Performance (chromed fork and stays) and Palo Alto are gems.
I'll leap for a sensibly priced 59-63cm when found. These are amazing rides

1986 Trek Touring bike - $290 (Somerville)

Have a vintage Trek 520 touring bike for sale. Has a 57cm Reynolds steel frame with multiple eyelets for racks and fenders. Comes with similar vintage Jim Blackburn rack.

Bike has quality components. Full Suntour drivetrain with Cyclone Mk.2 rear derailleur and Arx front. Sakae crankset with small third bailout ring.

Matrix Safari rims on Malliard hubs with a 6 speed cassette on the Helicomatic rear.

Bike has been very well maintained with recent tune up including new cables, brake pads, bar wrap, saddle, tires, and bike computer.

Awesome ride that needs nothing but a new rider. Has served me well, but have been spending more time riding trails and less on the road.

Call text or email with any questions.

A lot of money for a bike with stamped dropouts, swaged cranks, Valentino derailleur, and a steel seat post. I doubt that it's worth over 300 Euros but I'm no Bianchi expert and have never seen this model: Hopefully someone will come along who knows more than I do.
