A bit overpriced, and the seller needs to learn a bit about back lighting, but this '73 Atala Record Professional likes pretty nice. I like the minimalist hub shiners.

Yes, I did. Very, very nice. One of those I wish I didn't let go. If that Philly bike was a 54 I'd make a go at it.

This almost reminds me of rifle engravings.

It's rough, but that's a nice price. What size do you think it is? 56, maybe 58cm?

I never knew of Medici offering a touring machine. Pretty cool and unusual US made vinti rig here. Clean, papers, bottles, match pump, Phil hubs.

1982 Medici Gran-Turismo- 57cm, Campagnolo Nuovo Record w/triple & Rally | eBay

1982 Medici Gran-Turismo- 57cm, Campagnolo Nuovo Record w/triple & Rally
$900 O.B.O

This is gem of a bicycle, a 1982 Medici. It is a true-one-owner bicycle in great condition (see specs and condition description below). According to the owner the bicycle has less than 300 total miles on it which the photos should substantiate. The bike really does look great. As far as functionality goes, it's pretty much ready to ride short of tires, which don't look like they'll hold pressure anymore.

Condition: Overall, I'd rate the bicycle an 7.5 to 8 on the 1-10 scale. The only detractors are some paint chips around the head tube (photo #11) and a small indentation on the top tube (photo #12). Beyond that the bicycle rates near perfect. The components are really fresh with hardly any signs of use. The wheels are true, all bearings spin smoothly and the finish on all the Campy components is intact and almost completely without wear marks or other signs of use. Most importantly, at least from a value standpoint, is that the bike is equipped with a Campagnolo triple crankset and Rally rear derailleur. You don't see vintage Campy triple setups very often and it's even more rare to see them in such fine condition. The bike was a top-of-the-line day tourer in its day.

As a bonus, the original sales receipts have been kept and come with the bicycle. The Medici was purchased from Ventura Cyclery in Ca. at a cost of $1,504.45, quite a sum for 1982. No expense was spared in the outfitting of the bike, from it's Reynolds 532 tubing to its Campy components, Phil Wood hubs and Cinelli bars and stem.

The frame is stamped 58-00255 on the bottom bracket, but the "58" refers to the center-to-top measurement. By my cyphering, the bike actually measures closer to 57cm center-to-center. I'm assuming the "58" refers to a center-to-top measurement.

Specs
Frameset: 1982 Medici Gran-Turismo
Dimensions: 57cm seat tube, 55cm top tube
Tubing: Reynolds 531
Crankset: Campagnolo Nuovo Record Strada Triple, 170mm, 50-42-36
Pedals: Campagnolo Nuovo Record steel w/Christophe steel toe clips
Front derailleur: Campagnolo Nuovo Record
Rear derailleur: Campagnolo Rally
Brake levers: Campagnolo Nuovo Record
Brake calipers: Campagnolo Nuovo Record
Hubset: Phil Wood 36-hole f&r
Rims: Super Champion Gentleman 700c clinchers
Freewheel:Regina 6-speed, 14-32
Handlebar/stem: Cinelli Giro d'Italia 64-40 handlebars, Cinelli 1-A stem, 100mm
Seatpost: Campagnolo Nuovo Record

The colours are kinda garish but the price isn't too bad for what looks to be a clean rider, this Colnago C40 with Record is $1200 in Orange County, CA

Also in the OC, this Tommasini might also be described as garish but I think it looks fantastic and the price is pretty good too, considering the condition it is in; $850

Looks like either an '83 or an '84 850? Trek didn't make an ATB in '81 and there's no such model as a 650. No one wants the first Trek MTB ever produced?

1981 Trek 650 mountain bike double butted Champion steel frame. 19". Some surface rust. Was hand painted with Rustoleum with a brush 15 years ago. Includes blackburn rack that I cannot get off without totally stripping the screw heads. One owner (me) bought new in 1981. Never wrecked. As is.
If interested please include your phone number in email.
Thank you, Carl

I was keen on this Tommasini and actually spoke with the seller over the weekend. Unfortunately, the sizing he put in the ad of 57 was ctt, not ctc. I've put a strict lower limit on what I would buy at 57 ctc.

The bike is gorgeous in my eyes.

^ +2 on that.

So it is 57ctc is what I am reading. Do you know if the seat tube in the ad is correct at 56cm? It's hard to believe the stand over is tight for the seller at 6' tallI but that is spot on for me. I may have to go see it when I get back to OC.

From the text in the ad:

57cm Seat Tube center to top, 56cm Top Tube center to center

I was wondering about the stand over too. I didn't get to ask him that question. I just sent him an email asking about it.

.....

I had it pegged for an '84 or '85 because of the headbadge, fork crown and red panel. A nice project for $20
