eBay / CraigsList finds - "Are you looking for one of these!?" Part II
...addicted...
I bought the Gitane frame from this guy for $30. He's got some nicer bikes he's built up. Those brown Raleighs are really nice.

Bummer!
I also missed a 1985 Schwinn Le Tour Luxe last week for $25 (only year it had Columbus tubing and cantilever brake bosses). There's an '85 frameset for sale on eBay right now for $285.

Newer brake calipers. Is this an older frame or a re- release?

If that's yours, the way to do this would be to ask for value/info in the appraisals forum...without the CL link.
I'm not sure how to read your post - but the bike is worth about double asking price. Even on CL.

Not my bike, just in my area. I mis-read your post as in it was hi-way robbery and the buyer would get robbed to pay that. I am traveling so it's fair game and would have only been a 20 minute minute drive for me. Oh well.

Eddy Merckx Criterium Frameset 57 cm + Campagnolo Record Headset PINK! - $375 (Watertown)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
125 Walnut St
(google map)
condition: good
make / manufacturer: Eddy Merckx
model name / number: Criterium
size / dimensions: 57 cm
1990's Eddy Merckx Criterium Frameset
Includes: Frame, Fork, and Campagnolo Record Headset. Includes Simplex binder bolt and dropout adjusters.
Finish: Original Magenta / Pink factory paint job with White with Chrome Outline decals. Chromed chainstays. Cream white lug cutouts and EM symbols. "Criterium" and "Columbus SLX" stickers were removed long ago by the original owner.
According to catalog, the Criterium is "Eddy Merckx's circuit racing bike. It's designed for American-style closed course racing. With a higher bottom bracket, shorter top tube and shorter wheel base, the Criterium meets the demands of the riders who prefer a "quicker" bike, with sacrificing riding comfort. This frame is hand built with Columbus SLX tubing using all investment cast lugs..." The Criterium has classical features like a pump peg and chain hanger.
Size: 57 cm. Frame measures 57 cm center-center seat tube (~58.5 center-top), 56.5 cm center-center top tube, 15.7 cm headtube end-to-end between headset cups. Chainstay is 40.5 from the BB center to center of horizontal dropout. This frame will generally fit riders ~5'10"-6' tall depending on preferences.
Frame Standards: This frame accepts a 27.2 mm seatpost, braze on front derailleur, Italian threaded bottom bracket, short reach recessed nut road brake calipers, and 130 mm rear hub. Downtube shifter bosses accept either downtube shifters, or can be fitted with STI adjusters to run integrated shifters.
Condition: Condition is used regularly under 1 owner for 15 years and well cared for. This frame is ready to build and enjoy as-is, with good threads, perfect alignment, and no internal rust issues and no dents. Chrome is very good. There are many paint chips, cable rubs, and marks on the frame as seen in the last picture (6 picture collage). These can be touched up if so inclined. I left them untouched for the new buyer. Some people won't bother, some will dab and bit of clearcoat, and some of you will get crazy and touch up with just the right color. It's up to you!
Price is firm!
