Vintage Cannondale/ LL Bean touring bike - $385 (Watertown)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
Bradford Road at Orchard Street
(google map)
make / manufacturer: Cannondale/ LL Bean
size / dimensions: 23"
I'm selling a vintage Cannondale touring road bike from the mid-1980s ( I think 1986 but can't confirm) that was rebranded for LL Bean. Aluminum frame has the patented oval seat stays and engraved initials of the folks that built the bike in the rear drop out, which was a common touch on Cannondale frames in that era.
27" tires, Frame size is 23" and ground to top tube is 32.5". I bought this bike from the original owner up in Freeport who claimed to have rode the bike from England to Greece. The old and faded Cyclist Touring Club (CTC) sticker (a British touring club) remains on the down tube.
The frame does have cosmetic damage in the form of chipped paint, but otherwise this is a really interesting vintage bike from the early days of Cannondale getting into bike building. New Continental 27" touring tires are included in the deal. Bike works well.
$385 cash or best reasonable offer

Bridgestone RB-T in Nashville. Possibly asking too much but he's already come down some pretty quickly.

BIG '90s squishy. Probably too costly, especially considering the narrow target buyer group, but a nice example.

Schwinn Premis - $199

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Schwinn
model name / number: Premis
size / dimensions: 19"One year model in 19
Classic one year model in 1988. This one is the short size, 19"(485mm) seat height. If you search it out on line you can find a catalog with all the specs. I bought it as a new leftover in 1990 thinking I would get into cycling, but never did, so only used it a few times over the first few years I have had it. It is still equipped with the original tires and brake pads, which should probably be replaced, but you can see how it came. It was a less expensive "racer" than the Paramount. Some features include: Dia-comp Brakes, Suntour Cyclone shifters, Tenex seamless steel frame, Wienmann rims.$199 OBO. Give me a call to come see it at 508 574-5539

Vintage Libertas Road Frame - NOS, never ridden!!! - $75 (Chelsea)
image 1 of 3

House cleaning continues and here is an NOS Libertas road frame, circa mid-1970s. Made in Belgium, this frame has never been ridden. Although not labeled as such, I suspect it has full 531 tubing throughout and has BSC threading. Campagnolo dropouts front and rear. This would make an excellent fixie/townie bike, or a nice vintage lugged steel road bike. Seat tube: 59cm C-C, Top tube: 55cm C-C. Excellent condition overall, with a few small paint chips/dings that could easily touched up. Priced to sell at $75 cash and I can meet in Ann Arbor to complete the sale. I will NOT ship this item.

Vintage Witcomb Road Frame - Lugged 531 - $75 (Chelsea)
image 1 of 2

It's house cleaning time and up for sale is a vintage '70s Witcomb road frame, make in the U.K. by Witcomb Cycles. Full 531 tubing throughout, along with Campagnolo dropouts. Includes a Campagnolo NR headset, so how can you beat that? This would make a superb fixie/townie bike, or a great restoration project. Paint is a bit rough, but all original. Seat tube: 55cm C-C. Top tube 55cm C-C. Priced to sell at $75 firm, cash money. I can meet in downtown Ann Arbor to complete the sale. I will NOT ship this frame.

I had a Motobecane in the 1970s - bought it with my pocket money and paper round delivery savings. Cost me £68.95 if I recall. Long gone after an upgrade to a Nigel Dean hand built touring bike.
