What about the tires? They're so new, they guy didn't ever finish putting them on. Tape on the seat also appears to be new.

As another poster said, any bike for sale for over $200 ought to at least be able to be ridden away. I like that rule of thumb, though it obviously wouldn't apply to something really rare like Hitler's bike or the bike that won the very first Tour de France.

It is but I you need to take what you can find when you need a 24" front wheel.

1988 Bianchi Sport SX in Celeste - $150?

If this bike is as nice as it looks, why the low price?

https://northernwi.craigslist.org/bi...311404012.html

We are selling a 30 year old lightly used Bianchi Sport SX in Celeste Green Bicycle as is, 150.00 OBO. It has all original parts including chrome molly double butted frame, Shimano Exage Sport components. Needs some TLC but is an old classic. Could use new tires and tubes. Otherwise, no damage. The bike would fit someone who is 5'9 or taller.

I love that Centurion...well, not that exact one as it is. That's the color and size I want but it's priced far too high. Wish I had been able to grab the one that was recently for sale in the C&V Marketplace!

It is a Taiwanese built bike that sold for just under $500. Better pics are are need but I would suspect it needs a overhaul, new tire and maybe a chain. But it seems low for what most people want for any Bianchi

Price seems a bit high but it appears to be in good shape and it does have that Superby-ish stuff, a Multito and a black Eclipse rack on it.

Vintage Trek 700 Road Bike - Reynolds 531, Superbe, Campagnolo - $495 (Richmond)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Trek
model name / number: 700

I have a beautiful Trek 700 road bike with about 700 miles on it.
All original as it was fist sold - In beautiful condition with all accessories that were included in the late 1970s or early 80s
Everything is original including Reynolds 531 frame and fork, Suntour Superbe components, Campagnolo wheels,
Added in the 70s were a really cool Huret hub mounted odometer and a rack.
It's in very fine condition - Even the tires are original. The paint looks beautiful with metal flake showing through like new. There are some very slight scuffs and slight surface rust but this is the most pristine example of a Trek 700 that you will find.

Asking $495

Call: 973-759-3540

I did not know they were already building them in Taiwan back in `88.

The closest catalog scan I could find was for 1987 on Velobase, and it was the fifth bike from the bottom, weighing-in at 23 lbs. So I sort of assumed this was a Japanese-built bike. Did they change this to the entry-level offering from Bianchi in `88?

And as such, is it even worth buying?

Beautiful bike. Invoice is interesting - I do all my own work so I'm out of touch with what the shops are charging for their services lately.
