I did not know they were already building them in Taiwan back in `88.
The closest catalog scan I could find was for 1987 on Velobase, and it was the fifth bike from the bottom, weighing-in at 23 lbs. So I sort of assumed this was a Japanese-built bike. Did they change this to the entry-level offering from Bianchi in `88?
And as such, is it even worth buying?

I’d never been to this Bike Kitchen and I highly recommend it. Tons of good stuff well
organized but some is only sold when you put it on a bike. So the next time I’m building I’ll come here, pay $12 a day and won’t be digging for little parts. Spotted in bins:
rider-quality TA triple crank, Superbe Pro pedals, bars and stems galore, on and on.

These guys frequently run auctions for these shifters - new. I won a pair for $40 a while back. Cables included. They have buy it now as well but wait for the auctions and you can get a deal IMO. I think they are actually 3x8 as well

Wow, I didn't know mixtes could be had this large. The aesthetic is a bit iffy on this one with the large amount of tube rise above the stays - but there you go...

De Rosa Giro d'Italia
https://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/bik/6319600838.html
A nice De Rosa up for sale in UES Manhattan. It has Campy Daytona all around; however, a weird shimano 600 headset... not sure why that was thrown it. Caveat, the top tube has a dent in it.
Here is the text
Damn I love De Rosa. I mean who doesn't. It's classic and retro - and if you're into steel framed bikes, there's almost nothing better.
This is an older 57cm frame (maybe 90s), with Columbus tubes, and absolutely gorgeous craftsmanship. The pain job is all De Rosa, but with some nicks, as you'd expect from so many years of love. There's a slight dent in the top tube, as you can see in the photos, and the price reflects this. Being a steel frame bike, this doesn't compromise the ride, and you barely notice it unless you're looking for it.
Selling as a full bike, and it's absolutely good to go - Campy Daytona, 3ttt, FIR rims, Continental Tires, Thompson Seat post Selle San Marco Seat, Look pedals.
It's also a pretty good starter project - you can swap out the parts and components to modernize a little at a time, and look like a badass right away.

I use it to negotiate a better price and pose it as "oh it will need a tune up since it looks like it has been a while since it has one. I'll give you $100 for the bike." Awesome ploy. Doesn't work all the time but it is worth the cocked head look.

These are hard to find, especially for a good price. All you need are some 9-speed wheels and 650 dollars.

Wasn't someone here looking for a Cinelli fork? This cracked SC frame in NYC is $100 and comes with the fork which the seller says is in good condition.

I would NOT trust that crank arm spider to last through a single big ring uphill sprint. Or even a small ring uphill sprint. And I think it's obvious that many Clydesdales could break that thing just by looking at it.
