Steel Frame touring bike with Dura Ace gear system - $500 (Des Moines)

A good condition used Cinellii steel frame bike that had only one owner. I acquired the bike and I am not a bike expert nor rider so I have not used the bike. I am looking to sell it and buy hybrid bikes for my wife and I. I am providing what info I know from a biking enthusiast who inspected the bike. The gear system is Dura Ace which is an excellent system. The frame is in decent shape as well. My friend informed me that this could be a collectible bike because it is steel or it could be seen as an entry level bike or perhaps a great Ragbrai bike. The size is guessed to be a 56cm or possibly a 58cm. I am asking $500/obo. Any other questions please email me or call.

https://desmoines.craigslist.org/bik/1692379174.html

I've traded emails with the seller and he seems like a pretty nice guy.
I'm surprised that nobody's snagged this yet. If I hadn't recently tapped out the bike fund, I'd be putting an SOS out for help in picking this up.

56cm Serotta TG w/ Campy Record 10speed components: Frame circa 1994 Campy Record circa 1997-98. Unbelievable condition w/ Kestral carbon fiber fork, Mavic clincher rims, Sella San Marco saddle, American Classic Ti post, Ibis Ti stem, Time pedals. A must see to appreciate this bike. I built this bike up myself. Unfortunately, because of my medical situations, I was never able to appreciate this. I have ridden this bike a total of 100 miles and no crashes. Also selling Campy parts and Gore Ride-on Cables. Email me.

Vintage Road Bike - $60 (Gilbert)

Date: 2010-04-15, 8:12PM MST
Reply to: sale-aqsyf-1694457202@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Batavus Type Sprint Road Bike
This vintage bike is in good working condition and can move like the wind, but could use some love. The handle bars are a little worse for wear; however, this can be easily fixed with bar tape. The saddle is a woman's Wilderness Trail Bike model and has a small tear on the side. The shifter does not work very well and I have been using it like a fix speed. Which has been great due to the generally flat terrain. I have been told that if you'd like to convert the bike into a true fix speed it would cost ~$200.00 or less. I have used this bike for commuting for the past 6 years, but would like to start mountain biking and don't have room two bikes. It can be yours for $60! Only serious inquiries please. Thanks for checking out Batavus!

A $60 Batavus??

I emailed the seller about 2 hours after it was listed (just my luck to miss it when I was away from my computer...). She says she's doing a free-for-all "whoever is there first when I get home from work" kind of thing.

Gosh, I hope I'm the lucky one, but I doubt I'll be able to get there in time. Just goes to show: NEVER LEAVE CRAIGSLIST, the deals will be posted the second you turn away from it.

I don't think there's a finer bike than a Richard Sachs. We sold them at Toga Bike shop back in the late 70's and early 80's. And Richard was a nice guy to deal with, very accomodating.

Some of you out there might want to check out this " Italian Collectors road bike" or so the Seller says. From the '60's apparently - does the name Guerrini ring a bell? I get the feeling he is a bit optimistic regarding the price he thinks it is worth.

57-cm Falzarego Vintage Road Bike Frameset Lugged Butted Extras - $75 (healdsburg / windsor)

Date: 2010-04-14, 7:55PM PDT
Reply to: sale-snwwf-1692865155@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

57-cm "Falzarego" lugged double butted chromoly steel road bike frameset with lots of extras. I've never heard of Falzarego, but it has their decals and logos on the frameset.......I know the Falzarego Pass in Italy is a big cycling route........ Long pointy lugs, cutouts in the lugs......long horizontal dropouts with axle adjusters, rack mounts front and rear. Color is blue, with white trim in the lug cutouts........ It's used, NO dents NO dings and NO chainsuck, but it does have some surficial rust in some spots. A bead blast and repaint would bring her back........... Size is 57-cm center to center seat tube, top tube measures 57-cm center to center. Rear spacing is 125. Comes with the front chrome fork (nice chrome fork with Cinelli-like sloping fork crown), headset, bottom bracket, seatpost, seatpost binder bolt, bars and stem, brake levers with hoods and cables........ The headset and bb are smooth. It has some wear and weathering, some rust in spots....... but has no dents and no dings. Would a good town bike for cheap........Price is $75. I can also ship it anywhere in the Bay Area for $25 by insured Fedex.

Vintage Univega Gran Touring - $295 (Scottsdale)

Date: 2010-04-10, 4:44PM MST
Reply to: sale-k5tbs-1686202523@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I have for sale a 1988 Univega Gran Touring bike. This is an excellent full fledged loaded touring bike from the great age of touring bikes and is comparable to other great touring bikes, such as Miyata and Trek.. The bike has been stripped down to nubs, completely overhauled, rebuilt, and literally ready to hit the highway. In addition to being an excellent tourer, the bike could also serve well as a commuter or "old school" cyclocross/canal bike.

Frame: Triple butted Tange chromoly. 54cm seat tube, 54cm top tube. Full touring brazeons for loaded touring and front and rear racks and fenders.

Drive Train: Shimano Deore. 48-38-28 treking crank. 14-32 6-speed Shimano freewheel.

Vittoria tires. Puncture resistant tubes.

Thanks for looking.

If you can look beyond the 80's-tastic paint scheme, this Peugeot frame is awesome. It is wayyy light. Real horizontal dropouts for all you fixed gear fanatics, Shimano 105 downtube shifters, 105 front derailleur, Shimano RSX rear derailleur, Shimano 105 headset and Shimano SLR shift levers with cables still attached. 55-56CM

Would like to get $100 for it. Also selling the chainrings and cassette pictured, 56t and 42t, 11-21t cassette. All Shimano.

$150 takes it all.

80's Sekai 2000 road bike. Beautiful dark-red frame. About 33 inches from ground to top of the frame (I'm 5'11 and it fit me okay). 12-speed. Shimano parts.

Chain is a bit rusty and the brake parts have some rust on them as well, but the frame and everything else are in great shape.

I bought this bike last spring, rode it for a couple of months and then stored it in a dry basement until now. Its a great bike.

Panasonic Aero AR 6000 . This bike has a brand new wheel set, a flip flop hub
to ride fixie or free wheel. Original Dura Ace AX seatpost from '82. New tires, chain, and handle bars.
I have ridden the bike all of two miles; had it built up 6 months ago but it is
too small for me.

"The Tange Aero tubing was certainly ahead of its time… aero right down to the seat post tube. This bicycle is a real engineering marvel and it shows just what Panasonic was capable of during the early eighties."
