This just popped up locally:

Contact them and see if they would be willing to drop it at a mutually agreed bike shop that could disassemble and pack for you at nominal charge. Then you can set up bikeflights.com account and arrange shipping which in my experience is cheaper than FedEx or UPS regular rates and uses them too.
I've done this with bikes from Mass. and Wash. to Los Angeles with no problem except one shop overcharged me on shipping. That's why you arrange the shipping based on dimensions and weight you get from the shop, and then you email the shipping docs to affix. Be sure the shop can pack as bikeflights recommends, especially the bottom bracket and wheels, and supporting the fork and rear dropouts' spacing.
As long as you can convince the seller that you're legit (like having a good ebay record), that they would accept payment - USPS postal money order like in the days before electronic payments, or PayPal or others, and you know it's not a scam, then it might work. As you say, if someone can help with facilitation then you have a friend near by to help make it happen.
Is it OK to request help in the open C&V forum or facilitator forum?

Vintage Viner Italian bike - $599
Probably overpriced since it's in my part of the world, but what a pretty old road bike!

I see these kind of Craigslist ads from time to time. Guys, please resist the temptation to use your wife as a bike stand, just lean the thing up against the garage door or a garbage can. Not only is it borderline "degrading to women everywhere", it's also distracting because you can easily forget what's for sale here. I do like the way she grabs the nose of her man's saddle though.

And if the sellers are reading this, my apologies for poking a little fun. Good luck with the sale, maybe someone here will see the bikes as a result of this post, though you might want to reduce your prices by a few hundred $$$ for a quicker sale.

This Tommasini Super Prestige is priced well at $600 in York, PA. It has been listed for awhile, perhaps there is some wiggle room on the price...?
https://york.craigslist.org/bik/d/53...293035525.html

And I find these colours hideous together but are they so hideous that they are kinda cool?

If you are nearby, I would offer him $450 and then you can post the frameset in the "Frame doesn't fit" thread that is stickied at the top of this forum. You may find someone who has a Tommasini that is too big for them that is willing to trade....

56 cm Bianchi Reparto Corse, handmade in Italy, 18 sp - $500 (Quincy)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
(google map)
condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Bianchi
model name / number: Reparto Corse
size / dimensions: 56 cm
Bianchi road bike for sale. Shimano integrated shifters. Shimano components all around. Frame is celeste blue and yellow. Bike is in great condition. Blue tires, guaranteed to clash with frame. Cheap flat pedals with toe clips (I assume you will use your own pedals). I bought the bike on eBay about three years ago, and it was shipped to me. Tune-up and new chain done then at Anderson Bicycle in Quincy. I have not ridden it since (I rode it a total of maybe 15 miles).
Tires are flat right now, but there's a pump sitting right there, so you can pump them up to test ride the bike.
I am 6'1" tall and the bike fits me. 22" or 56 cm from center of bottom bracket to intersection of top tube and seat tube.
It's a pity for this bike to just sit here. Limited time (this weekend only) $500 price. This is a fantastic price for this bike! What I want for this insanely low price is a hassle-free transaction. You show up, check out the bike. If you don't want it, thank me for my time and go. If you're unsure, thank me for my time and go. If you want it, give me my asking price and take it away.
I will be around Saturday and Sunday.
If you are interested, email.

Most of the bikes I own either came from different states, or countries. The only bikes that were from nearby cities for me was when I bought my first few road bikes. I now have bikes from London, France, Utah, etc.

Dang, and here I thought I had a problem by looking at the whole of southern california.
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/ws...337326950.html
Anyways, back on topic. Schwinn Prologue in ~6.5/10 condition, 51cm. Tange Prestige, mix of shimano 600 and dura ace (hubs!), campy rims. Hard to say whether or not the dark line underneath the top tube-head tube lug is an ungodly crack or just dirt/grime. Though if the components are in fine condition the $240 price seems more than fair even if the frame is shot.

https://losangeles.craigslist.org/ws...340314627.html
Oop, another Schwinn. 57cm, 1981 Voyageur 11.8, $200. Price might be a little high for all non-original parts, but they seem to be relatively good quality. Long cage crane RD, super maxy cranks, random replacement fork but the original fork comes with the bike.

Alright, last one for today, I need to finish my homework.
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lg...343680946.html
No name KHS road bike in very good condition. 56CM. Looks like it would have probably been called a sport touring bike back in the day. It's obvious the bike has been taken care of, or was stuck in the garage, lonely and sad. As long as the hub/bb bearings aren't totally shot I see no reason why $200 for this bike in LA isn't a steal. I can't tell, but it looks like mid/late 80s shimano 105 or 600 components, possibly a mix? I don't have time to research, but does anyone have info for this bike? Or KHS stuff in general of this era. After seeing this and other 80s KHS bikes I'm sorta interested in finding one as they seem to go for cheaper than other brand name bikes of equal componentry.
