While I was putting Front pads on the Volvo this afternoon The Neighbor rolled out a Schwinn collegate and set it next to the garbage can. She said she bought a lightweight and no longer wants it. So It looked good to me with the only thing wrong is a flat. I would say its late 60's in pertty great shape. I don't know how to estimate a date for a Schwinn. I'm looking at nice grips & no reflectors.

This pops up here locally from time to time, may have been posted here before. No price unless you call. There's no bike on the planet I wouldn't at least take out for a spin if it were my size

I called him back in March just to get details. Interesting gentleman, interesting conversation on this and his other bikes. Somehow I never got around to getting the price on it, but I wasn't really interested in buying - the gold plating on the forks don't seem to hold up well in use and it would likely better suited as a wall-hanger. I won't have a bike and not ride it.

If you want one of these, this is probably as good as you'll find. Front and rear light lenses are intact but one plastic brake lever ball end is broken off.

That's the black chrome finish, color code XK. When I was repping for them one of the west coast sales reps who was balding was nicknamed "XK" for his chrome dome. The balding eastern sales manager was known as XKE (the "E" for "East.")

I'm friends with the seller, he's an older Italian gent. Very nice guy and knows his bikes, and his wine, he brings a bottle every time he visits. He does immaculate work on his bikes and does list them at high prices and rarely lowers them. He's very patient and will list them for years at the same price.
