A couple weeks ago, I saw what I believe is this same Santana tandem at a local thrift store for $300. Now I see it for sale on CL for $875.

https://fresno.craigslist.org/bik/d/...404678069.html

I debated buying it myself in order to flip, but my selling skills suck, so I took a pass. Plus, selling a tandem must be at least twice as difficult because you need to find a couple that will fit both front and back (and has $875 to spend). What are the odds of that?

But if this person can realize a $575 profit on the sale, more power to them.

Yeah my guess is you’re not gonna make a lot money flipping tandems.

If you had a steady diet of $300 Santanas you might, but that's unlikely to say the least.

Rare 1984 Raleigh Superbe. 56. Reynolds 531.

These don't appear very often. They started off under the Rampar branding and then changed to Raleigh in their later years. Not perfect, but a nice example of a fully top end Suntour Superbe equipped bike, including the really rare Superbe stem! Sadly to tall for me....

Yes! I had the first year "Rampar" Superbe. That was my last racing bike. Put a ton if miles on that bike. After a few years the gold started wearing off. Stripped the gold off with some lacquer thinner and had a beautiful chrome bike.

Yep, I picked up that Bottecchia. Been wanting one like that for some time. Had an ADR but the colors just didn't work for me.

There's a lot of talk about pink bikes here (a couple pages back). I thought I'd post a bike I sold a few months ago. I found it on CL for a heck of a deal and the owner had it stored in the garage for a couple decades. After a complete tear down and cleaning, the bike looked like new. The paint was in mint condition and the Shimano 600 components were rust free.

Fantastic. I see you're one of those who click on the BIN to eliminate the bidding process. I like doing that sometimes on items I really like.

I'm sure you'd love the bike. It's just gorgeous. Let us know your impressions on your first ride.

Made in England 1970's Raleigh Grand Prix, $200. The very short wheelbase on this bike makes me think it's intended for racing. Some of these bikes were incredibly light for the era. Can't make out the tube sticker, unfortunately, so I don't know which tubing they used.

Oh well, figures. I was hoping it might be Reynolds 531 or something. That's what I get for posting bikes I know nothing about.

Will try to stick with only posting ads here for machines I'm more familiar with.

Still, it "looks" very nice if nothing else.
