I saw that too. Unfortunately, too big for me (a 59). The De Rosa is a 57... thanks!

Don't know where you are in NC, but I've been watching FB Marketplace for a while now, for bikes, with a 60 mile radius scan from Wilmington and it's not full of stars like a monolith, but rather brimming with overpriced crap, sort of like OfferUp and Letgo. Have yet to find a way to sort the listings by posting date either.

How is it for where you are, wherever that may be?

addendum: I have found a few things through Letgo and Offerup, so will continue to peruse FB MP. I guess my post centers on the temporal proximity problem. Has anyone figured out how to search through the FB MP offerings?

$625 - that is a great price! That bike looks ready to ride fast. Those Zondas alone will set you back about $200-300 used.

Great looking Raleigh Grand Sports in Chicagoland for $250.

Nice, clean Raleigh Grand Sport with 58cm frame, Reynolds 531 tubing throughout. Brooks B-17 leather saddle. Rear derailler has been changed out to Shimano Sora with indexed stem shifters. Alloy wheels are straight with new tires and Normandy hubs. Cables have also been replaced recently. Crankset is Stronglight. Paint is nice with no dings or dents. Made at the Carlton facility. Phone or text 8one5 7six8 91zero8.

Mine. I got some bikes recently at very good prices, so why not give some other guys a good buy. The De Rosa was sold this morning to a young man. His first venture into vintage bikes would be a very pleasant experience. He doesn't even know De Rosas so he'll be very pleased when he learns more about what he's got.

I'm out in the middle of nowhere on the SC border, Charlotte and Raleigh are both about 100 miles away so it's slim pickings in my area. Does look like some decent deals in the city. For some reason Charlotte shows up in my 80mi radius. I don't think there's any way to sort them by date.

That's beautiful! But if I tried to take that picture, an imperceptible breeze would blow it forward a little and it would tumble into the pool just as I snapped the picture.

Is the Masi frameset you are selling a repaint? It looks gorgeous.

I hope I'm not stepping on any rules talking about this here. Not sure about the originality of the paint. I bought the frame off Ebay two or three years back. The seller did not know either.

You're right. I just took another look and it is beautiful. Now I'm not sure if I want to sell it.

I've never seen a derailleur with this level of bidding, much less BIN price. Wow. Lovely, rare, but.. Wow.

First time around it had a BIN price of (I think) $3000. It went unsold for a bid of around $1500. It's a very cool piece of bike art.

Danger! Viewer caution advised.

"Bikes bikes bikes. I have an accumulation of bicycles. Some are complete, some of are just frames and some in between. They include Schwinn Superior, Peugeot, Windsor, Raleigh, Nishiki, Astro Daimler, Puch. I had lots of big plans, extra money, just not the will power."

https://stlouis.craigslist.org/bik/d...422227242.html

And no this is not my ad.

No judgement on my part. I need to do the same.

I've always liked the aesthetics of these bikes. Why aren't these selling? The first one appears to be in particularly good condition but has been on CL forever. The second one, I believe, was posted here a couple of weeks ago.

I've been wondering the same thing. Pretty fair prices for them, especially the one going for $300.

Speaking of s.california, have you come across listings done by a bikeflipper by the name of triedandtruebicycles? They're buying up a fair number of c&v bikes in San Diego in good conditon and selling them for exorbitant prices. Burns me up.
