Vintage Olmo on ebay in Portland
I must admit my knowledge of Olmo's is minimal. Any thoughts as to the model or year for this Olmo?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ita...wAAOSwX8RZ4kvZ
Depending on the pricing closer to the end of the auction, I may bid on this one. Would someone in the Portland area be able to facilitate this? I think I'd trust a BF member to get the bike to a shop that will do a proper job of packing.
EDIT: looks like a repaint? Don't see any decals on the frame at all.

If I had a dollar for every time it's happened...
At the end of the day the cash side of it always works out, but winning and having a seller snatch out from under you is a bummer. If you have a specific "bare minimum" sale price in mind, set a friggin' reserve!
I just won this for $95 shipped after watching it for half a dozen cycles, hoping the seller actually follows through on it. Could be an interesting compliment to the Gran Turismo I picked up from @sloar

IMO, if you can, you should leave a negative feedback since he reneged on his shipping and selling the bike. A contract is a contract and sellers should know what they are doing and offering when they post the listing.

No need for a facilitator, this is from Velocult, they are good guys and do a fair amount of packing and shipping.
I think the panto on the fork is 80's, this is a cool bike for a good deal around that price imo.

Don't know anything about these, having seen only 2 so far.
$200
https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...466327179.html

Fuji League, probably from 1985. It's in great condition - I changed out the shifter cables, lubed and adjusted the brake cables. It's ready to go. This is a Japanese lugged steel road bike, suitable for all around riding. I've geared it pretty low, with a compact double crank in front (48 and 34 teeth). The rear is a seven speed Shimano cassette that goes up to 28 teeth in the lowest gear, on a rugged set of alloy Araya 700c wheels. Nitto stem and handlebars wrapped with fresh Newbaum's cotton bar tape. Sugino cranks and seat post, Dia Compe brakes and levers, SunTour shifters and derailleurs (all friction). The saddle is a comfort-oriented one (personal preference). The frame has two sets of water bottle mounts (one bottle carrier included), and fittings for fenders if you'd like. This bike would be best for someone between 5'6" and 5'9" tall. I love this bike but I'm moving and need to downsize. This is yours for $200 cash. I can meet most evenings in Annandale. Write me if you'd like more details or specific pictures. Thanks!

AD SL - Should be 531 main tubes if I read an old bf post correctly. Cute little bike. $150 OBO

Just posting this one because it's so tiny & cute lol. Too small for me even, and they want $700...

Man if this were my size I'd be all over it! I already have one and love it, but it's a different color.
Here's a small Centurion Elite GT 15 touring bike. They are a one year only model for 1984, but the early ones were done up in 1983 colors and decals with a metal headbadge. This is one of those early ones!

I'm guessing, but fairly certain on the model. A little sleuthing turned up a pic of a gray Univega with the same fastback seat stays and hard-to-mistake Dura Ace AX cranks and pedals, which would mean this is a high-end Miyata made frame for cheap.

Need a classy beater? ~1986. Wondering how that tired paint would look like after a cut and polish.

I'm always a little wary of ads that just have a phone number, no email. Like someone's trying to troll "Nick" with a flood of people wanting to know if the $75 Voyageur is still for sale.

Too bad, maybe offered to pay half or all the shipping to make the deal work? It really isn't that expensive to ship just the frame and fork. However, he hasn't appeared to have offered or sold the parts. I wonder if he hasn't taken the bike apart actually, and doesn't want to go to the trouble if he doesn't get his price.
IMO, if you can, you should leave a negative feedback since he reneged on his shipping and selling the bike. A contract is a contract and sellers should know what they are doing and offering when they post the listing.

I put this out there, essentially saying: "I don't need the bars and wheelset. That's what makes boxes big and shipping high. Ship the rest, should be cheap, let's make this work."
To which I received their response saying this was "only for the frame and fork". Looking at the auction, without any knowledge you've read in this thread I'd ask: Is it clear to you this auction is only for the frame and fork? Or does it read to you also like the seller is implying the frame and fork is blue, as it is?
I honestly think the win price is fair, given the condition. Legitimately, I'd be lucky to get $300 out of it after full resto because it's not their higher-end product. I see bottom line of at least $150 in work and parts to get there if done the right way, so I'm out $250, which in my market is roughly where it'd sell, $250-300.
I'm better off waiting for one w/o the rust.
I'm going back and forth on the negative feedback. I'm trying to separate how pissed off I am that this constantly seems to happen to me on eBay and that, legitimately, I can see someone making this terrible mistake.

I think your assessment is correct: Bike probably isn't torn down, and seller may not even have a cotter press to remove the crank in a few seconds, I really don't know (I do, VAR07, like pushing room temp butter through a fork).

The truth may be an offense, but it's no sin.
Leave the feedback. Ebay works best with trust/truth for both parties.

I love the nearly-color-matched brake calipers!
