This is a 1984 Ritchey Ascent Comp. Even though it has been painted in the Commando scheme, it is not a Commando. The serial number confirms this is an Ascent Comp and that it was built by Tom Ritchey. The welds and the fillet brazing are beautiful, and she rides strong.
This is an 18" frame, built with complete Shimano M700 'Deerhead' gruppo, Ritchey Bullmoose bars, M700 Hubs on Saturne rims, Specialized Cranks (original to the Deer Head groupset). The bike is in very good to excellent condition. It would take very little to make this a show bike.

I know 'nuttin' and only curious. Supposedly Mauro Fossati was born in 1916... so doing quick math tells me it unlikely this was made in the 1920's. Fossati was also at some time the head mechanic for Coppi and team. Neat stuff anyways.

Perhaps not to get over excited of, but here's a described 'mint condition' Quentin Impulse, full Shimano 105. Quentin was a Chicago company that distributed bikes and related. Private labeled this model, unknown maker, Tange Infinity tubing (butted seamed). Nice scallop stay caps, neat 80's color scheme.
