He's busy for the next two days but I'm meeting him at 9:00a Saturday, wow, we'll see.

Too small for me but my guess is someone might want it.

The pictures make it kinda look like it has the DA bars. And if so... $$$
I could be wrong, the shape was subtle compared to other bars.
Good luck.

He said on the phone it was "all original"...we'll see. Heck, it'd be worth it for the brakes for that matter.

Well, seller got religion after getting higher offers. Were it in my size such that I could have fun with it before a flip maybe I would have but I'll pass. He has it listed at $180 now. Such is the wild wild west of CL I suppose. The biggest free auction site in the world.

He did call me back this morning and asked if I wanted to make an offer, so at least he didn't just sell it out from under me without a chance on it. But, given it's at least 6cm shorter than I need....

you still going to look at it on sat? I havent heard anything back from him yet. The fact that he jacked the price makes me think he will just do it again.

not sure how these aeros ride but ever since i first saw one ive been interested to know. this one appears to be about my size as well.

If he cant meet until sat at 9am im sure he will get alot of other curious lookers.

If you are still planning to go...let me know how it turns out. im nervous about going $180 on somthing like this.

Nah, I told him I'd pass but thanked him for calling back. Like I said, if it were in my size such that I could have some fun with it then I might have pursued it. But, like you said, the price is likely to keep rising...he went from $100 to $180....so he has to be thinking there might be more out there. I'm quite sure it's just turned into an auction. Homey don't play that.

I emailed about that but never heard back. Any ideas what it is? Pic 2 looks like it might have forged drops and pic 3 appears to be a low end mountain bike....

No matter what it is it would be a smoking deal just for the barcons, fenders and saddle.

It's a Raleigh Grand Prix. The fenders are worth about the same as the bike.

By flipping to me.... I'd pay up to $250 for that bike. Though, I guess with shipping you wouldn't make that much.

He really doesn't know what he has, does he?

(PS: Lotus is my favorite brand)

Raleigh, 58cm lugged steel roadbike, 27inch wheels, centerpull brakes - $145 (Scottsdale / Tempe)

Date: 2010-04-28, 7:31PM MST
Reply to: sale-fbxpr-1715514632@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

58cm heavy steel lugged frame Raleigh, needs bar tape but the 27" tires hold air. Good commuting bike that you can lock up with out too many worries but still get from A to B with the benefits of a roadbike. Horizontal dropouts a benefit to anyone looking for a fixed or SS conversion. Centerpull brakes, stem mounted shifters and high flange hubs are also equipped on this bike. Please email me to schedule a time to come look at the bike, I'd like to get rid of it before it gets too hot!

Thanks for looking, post will be removed after sale.

What model is this? From stem shifters and dummy levers I'm guessing lower end, but that I really can't place it. Probably not worth the $145, but it's in my size so I thought I'd check.

Is it a Super Course?

Well, he probably did after he got a billion phone calls...I happened to be the first.

I could have parted it out probably but something like that is too unique to break up. Hopefully Drew didn't buy it....I doubt it.

10 minutes after it was posted, I replied. There ware probably 6 in front of me too knowing the Portland bike market right now.

I'll sit back and wait, but doubt I'll hear anything back.

There seems to be a large plethora of screaming deals on PDX CL today...
