Yeah. Tube Investments, Ltd, the owner of Reynolds Tubing, bought Raleigh in 1960, becoming TI-Raleigh. So they were cool with the sticker.

All Original 1973 56cm Men's Schwinn SPORTS TOURER 10 speed - $150 (Richmond)

Wow, cool barn find I made recently - a unmolested 1973 'Sunset Orange' Sports Tourer by Schwinn with a few original accessories to boot !

Mens 22" / 56 cm frame size. Orig. Accessories: color matched racing brake lever grips, pedal straps, odometer, aluminum rear rack and even a Schwinn combination lock & cable. * I ran it through the gears and it's still smooth as silk.

- What a great project to spruce up for summer cruising !

* Get at me 804-382-9474
PS. i also have a '73 Schwinn unicycle for sale

I've never had a Campy-equipped bike. How would that compare to the Shimano Sora on my Dawes Lightning DLX? Specs below:
Road Bikes - Dawes Lightning DLX

Also, I prefer downtube-mounted friction shifters.

It doesn't compare. You basically comparing a Model A to a Taurus. Even with a nice pair of friction or retrofriction down tube shifters the Sora will shift better.

The more I think about it, it seems less like an easy swap, but that's still good to know. Thanks!

That would make a cool 3-speed conversion just before the Lake Pepin tour. I've actually got a set of 700c wheels with a Sturmey Archer AW hub on the rear.

(Must resist... turn away... no more N+1!)
