There's a Motobecane Grand Record with Brooks saddle on shopgoodwill.com for pickup only in Indiana. Bidding still has a few days, but I bet it will end up a pretty good deal if you are local. They'll let you inspect before bidding and usually answer questions about their items.
https://www.shopgoodwill.com/viewItem.asp?ItemID=6139034

There's also a Trek 400 at the (I'm assuming) same location.

Ride in style. Late 70s Sanwa with Shimano gears and Silstar crank. Rare and amazing Gold/Brown sparkle paint finish -worth the price for this alone! 26 inch tires, 24 inch frame. Needs a tune up and perhaps a new inner tube.

1987 Schwinn Le Tour 12 speed--White with black and red accents - $300 (Apple Valley)

Date: 2010-04-30, 8:21AM CDT
Reply to: sale-uvra9-1717521234@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Someone is going to get a nice bike for spring! Perfect for the lakes!

There were good Le tour's and there were cheap Le tour's - this is a good one - a very good one. It functions perfectly in every way. It is an American made Cro-Mo lugged frame with down tube index "light action" Shimano derailleurs, Diacompe brakes, 3 peice Sungino alloy crankset, Weinmann 913 alloy rims and nice componants all around. 31" stand-over and 21" from center of the peddle to the seat post.

I decided to funk up the look too. It has new brake cables, new brake hoods, new bar tape, new red leather clip straps, and new tires. It also has a newer water bottle holder and almost new color matching specialized saddle.

Steel is real and this bike is as real as it gets. Plus look at the pictures! Not only does this thing ride like a dream it's definitely going to turn some heads too. No one else will have one that looks like this!

The only thing the bike it needs is a rider. I'm amazed at some of the junk bikes people try and sell. I've seen beat up Schwinn Le tours trying to be sold for not much less than this one. Save yourself some time and money and get a nice updated classic that's ready to roll.

Email if you are interested and I'll get back to you right away.

I agree, that Schwinn looks very nice. And those are not bad bikes- some would call that Schwinn period uinder-rated. I have a Tempo- one of the teal and white ones- that I bought from BG last year as a commuter/beater for my Son in Law. Oddly enough...it seems to never have been given to him...

Unfortunately the opening bid is way too high. IMHO its very unlikely to get a bid. If the seller started it at $200 (what he probably would have been happy to get before he posted in the valuations section) itd probsbly sky rocket past his current opening bid.

I'm going to coin a new term: "pss" = Pawn Stars Syndrome.

Ugh, good luck with that, almost as bad as a barn full of Paramounts that we're not allowed to own... As for "PSS" - very nice term, that's easily as useful as "Drew," I like it!

Do we mean the valuations their "experts" give, or do we mean the much more realistic prices offered by the shop owners?

For me the show that's ruining cheap deals is American Pickers. Those guys buy any random piece of rusty crap and treat it like a lost Roman artifact. I leave balloon bike frames in my backyard to decay properly just on the off chance they show up in Mercersburg.
