It certainly didn't sound legit on your first comment. Good luck. Schwinn Paramounts are great riding bikes.

I think my opinion was self-evident in my original response, but I was trying not to appear condescending and incredulous. Evidently, I did a pretty good job.
In all seriousness, who else among us would need to be told twice about a hundred-dollar Paisley (or bike by a comparable American builder) on CL before beating down the seller's door?

I knew it was a bit tongue in cheek, as well as trying to be helpful.
I will let the group know more in a couple of weeks.

It took me a while to find my chrome Schwinn Paramount and it cost me a lot more than this. And I believe that this one is worth than my 1973 model.

I toyed with snagging this, but was only really interested in the retrofriction shifters, which I just found elsewhere. I also have a couple other oddball Italian groups I've yet to hang on frames, so you can have this.
I think the drilling on the outer chainring is kinda cool. The brakes look like badge engineered Modolos. Not sure about the other stuff.

Guessing early 1970s. Trade off the crank + rims and you've got a classy machine.

And you were absolutely correct, my second in two weeks. The other was a a deal, but not half deal this was. Not sure which is cooler yet. Have to see it in person and get it rideable to evaluate. It will be a couple of weeks, stand by.
Some/most of these are or can be magical, I have no doubt about this one being any different.

Moderate surface rust on the wheels, tires are shot and a Stingray seat on a full sized bike. Let the rebuild begin!

Still need to find some full sized brake handles, run all the brake lines and make sure the shifting is correct

I was finally able to connect with the seller, John, a very nice guy and we have it mostly ironed out. So when this gets in I'll be letting a couple of others go - must maintain balance and sanity, what very little of either I still have that is. The small bike remains available for anyone here interested. No doubt the phone number discrepancy is slowing responses on this, I was frank with him that it raised red flags for me at first.
