The bike is local here. I have what I think is the same off-roadish model, a bit older and came from the factory with Command shifters.
Pricing needs major adjustment
Command shifters would bu ‘90s.

That screw on the side of the DT is used with the extra screw on the seattube

Early GF mountain bike. If it was on my side of the Bay I'd be all over it in spite of the rust and not my size:

Possibly fatal dent in seat tube, but maybe this has parts value? Looking specifically at that Cyclo Benelux rod control front changer.

Wow, so many amazing deals and bikes lately. I'd take those Italvega's in a heartbeat, and that $75 prelude as well.

The front and rear mechs on this are worth the price.

And seat tube dents can be removed from the inside, unlike other tubes. I'd take that on in a heartbeat if it were local.

Meanwhile, this one turned up last month at a charity thrift shop for $100, it's all-Japanese with full Exage gruppo.
Needed plenty of work as it looked to have been stored outdoors in mostly dry conditions for perhaps years. I tossed the levers/hoods and saddle just for starters, and the freewheel looked like solid rust (I replaced that too). It fits me perfectly and rides/feels about like a real race bike.
All I can see is the top of the bottle cage.

^^^^Thanks. i don't know if it's my location or what, but I frequently do not see all the attachments. Sometimes I have to quote the post, and then copy/paste the url into a different tab. Strange.

Edit: Oh, I now see there is a link there.

Forkless And ?

1983 SCHWINN PARAMOUNT - $400 (North Raleigh)

"THIS is a 1983 Schwinn Paramount frame. Too large for me to justify the restoration expenses. Size: 24.5 inches from center of bottom bracket to top of top tube. These are hand built frames and forks and are light as a feather. Made at the Waterford factory in Wisconsin. This is not a Japanese or Chinese bike. I received it with several patches of ugly but superficial rust. This bike had been re-painted and had some frame modification by a guy named Bryan Bayless (RIP) He installed a tunnel for routing the rear brake cable but painted the bike with non standard colors and decals. You will also receive the following parts: Cinelli handlebars and stem, Campy side pull brakes (very dirty), Campy bottom bracket, campy head set, campy seat bolt. I am not including the crank set or pedals but would consider selling them separately. These bikes have a following and there is a thriving business in restoration. The folks at Waterford would love to paint it for $700. There are less expensive restorers and I can provide you with the name of one. Please come take a look, take your measurements. I would be very happy to trade this for a nice, ready to ride road bike or hybrid that fits me. STEVE show contact info
Local pick up preferred.

make / manufacturer: SCHWINN WATERFORD
model name / number: PARAMOUNT
serial number: A8326
size / dimensions: 24.5 INCH "

Who is this "Bryan Bayless" guy? I knew Brian Baylis, the famous framebuilder and painter, is this some guy trying to rip off his legacy?

Just kidding. But seriously, I don't understand why people can't spell "Brian Baylis" correctly when it's written right there on the frame decal for them to copy.

The fact that they didn't Dremel all the braze ons off the frame is nice. Lotta value for just $40. I'd buy it for the wheelset alone.
