This Trek 1420 is up for sale for a whopping $159.
I believe the shifting has been updated, but it's a nice setup. Someone will get a nice bike for a good price.

If there's an official name for this pewter color, it should be "Old Touring Bike Gray"

Yep, a DP. Back in 1987, the Phinney models were somewhat different than standard off the rack Serotta frames, built to Phinney's design preference. He liked a longer top tube and Ben designed a set of unusual asymmetrical curved chainstays that were supposed to better transfer Phinney's phenomenal sprinting strength (note that Phinney was the first American to win a stage of the TdF).
Later DP's like the one above were more conventional designs; all of the ones I've seen from the later period had straight chainstays.
Regardless, it's a Serotta, so a nice riding bike, although broken shift lever, somewhat worn chainrings and mismatched wheel set indicate what you're buying is mostly the frameset. Still a deal.

If that bike originally sold in Seattle I might have assembled it and/or rung it up.

There is a museum-quality Raleigh Sprite 3-speed here on Craigslist for reasonable prices. Vintage insulated teensy tiny water bottle too. Pick up for the tweed ride!

This one's been up for a couple of months now. Somebody tried to find out more and was told it was gone but the ad persists.

How do you find someone to get a bike from the Craigslist seller's house to the shipper? Also, what size box do you use? FedEx doesn't seem to know what box to put a bike in
. Thinking I want this shipped:

You posted the Dawes in November of last year, then the ad disappeared.
I posted when it reappeared in December.
Now it's posted again.
I don't know what's up with it, but maybe this third time's the charm?

Fairly clean-looking early-'80s Trek 613 for sale.
1982 Trek 613, 27in rims, lugged Reynolds 531 steel -- $399/OBO @ Harrisburg PA area
1982 Trek 613, 27in rims, lugged Reynolds 531 steel -- $399/OBO @ Harrisburg PA area
1982 Trek 613 with Reynolds 531 frame tubes and Ishiwata stays and fork. The bike was originally painted in a pewter color but when I obtained it the paint and decals had seriously degraded after being stored for many years. I then decided to have it powder coated in a dark green metalic color and applied new decals.
The drive train is 3x6 [18 speeds] and is comprised of Suntour and Shimano parts. Indexed Shimano downtube shifters, Shimano 105 aero brake levers and calipers were also installed. To maximize braking efficiency Kool Stop salmon colored brake pads were added. A riser stem and flat handlebars replaced the original drop handlebars as a means of converting the bike to a more comfortable upright poition. Hubs are from Sunshine and the 27" alloy rims are from Rigida. New 27" x 1-1/4" Panaracer Pasela gumwall tires and tubes are included. Additional new items include a Shimano freewheel, stainless steel cables, stainless steel bottle cage, cable housing and brown cork grips.
All parts were removed from the bike and then cleaned and polished before reinstalling.
This bike has been an integral part of my personal vintage collection but it is now time to let it go. I have ridden it very sparingly and it is in "like new" condition. It now needs to go to someone who appreciates older classic bikes and will give it a good home.
This bike will nicely fit someone between 5'5" - 5'10".
This bike is exceptionally pretty when out in the sun and would make a great Greenbelt cruiser.
Please be aware that the pedals shown in the pictures are not included in the sale of the bike.
Feel free to contact me with any questions that you might have about this bicycle.
