Frame is 54 cm (c to c top tube and seat tube). Currently configured with an 8 speed rear cassette and 53/39 chainrings with friction downtube shifters. I'm 5 ft 9 inches tall and the bike fits me well with a 100 mm stem. Should be the right size for someone between about 5 ft 7 to 5 ft 10 inches tall. Anyone know how Columbus SLX rides? I have a Schwinn with Columbus Tenax tubing and love it. I've read that what's more important, in terms of ride feel, is geometry but I have nothing to compare the Tenax to.

Not sure of the model, but Suntour Sprint components and Columbus tubes. Dusty and dry hoods, but not rusty.

SLX is slightly heavier and a little stiffer than SL. I forget what Tenax compares to in the hierarchy as it was used just on the Schwinn. I really enjoy all my SLX bikes. If you are wondering about that Guerciotti, I think that would be a great bikeand the price is pretty fair for that excellent condition.

Very well. And if it is a Masi SLX bike (their Nuova Strada in the late '80s was), then it's magic. I have found that out-of-the-saddle efforts really bring out its best qualities as the frame "works" with the rider instead of "resisting" (to use a word) their efforts. I have two nice SL-tubed Schwinns that are a bit more of the latter, but an SL-tubed ~'83 Guerciotti is 100% the former. On the whole, though, SLX is well-regarded.
