Merlin 53cm titanium road bike for sale. I am second owner, purchased in 2005. Vintage 1991. Just replaced with new stickers. Bike needs nothing and is in very good cosmetic condition and perfect working condition. Colnago steel straight blade fork, Shimano Dura Ace 8 speed STI shifters, derailleurs, brakes, 175mm crankset (53x39). Zipp carbon bars, Cinelli stem, Chris king headset, White Industries hubs with Mavic Open CD rims, Flite saddle, American Classic titanium seatpost, and White Industries sealed bottom bracket. Pedals are old Shimano SPD and work fine if you want them included. $1000.

This frame originally came with a grease guard bottom bracket, but I removed all that and replaced with press fit setup. This original solid BB axle grease guard setup was the weak point of the frame: the bearings would never seat properly because the axle was too short to seat the bearings all the way so there was play in the bottom bracket, and the bearings would wear out every 6 months. I have custom machined aluminum cups to press in the cartridge bearings to the correct depth included with the bike. Also the BB axle is hollow (white industries) and bearings have a dust shield plus custom plastic dust covers custom made that press in over the bearings and keep out contamination so the bearings last much longer, and you can easily change the bearings in less than one hour.

10 minutes after seeing this post i stopped in at the local thrift store and they had the exact bike- $80. they were closing and a cash only place, but I arranged for him to hold it until 1pm tomorrow so ill be swinging by. in person that bike is beautiful. lvoe the details and the headset is fricken cool. ARX suntour drivetrain- not the top, but functional and pretty and all chrome under that paint.
