Agreed a better way to negoiate (if not price was listed in the ad) would have been to call you from the shop and let you know what they offered and give you the choice to match..I am sure the shop did not "over"pay.
Been there before.

I have for sale a 1981 Peugeot PXN-10 Super Competition in Pearl White. This bike is the same model that professional cyclists used in 1981. I bought it a few years ago with the intention to restore it to all original parts but never got around to completing it. Unfortunately the front wheel was stolen recently and I just don't have time to track down a replacement before I need to sell it. Nice Peugeot project bike $120. Been posted for at least a month. Not easy to sell a bike like this these days I suppose. Love the cool green paint job and graphics, and just a touch of chrome on the forks. Tons of tire clearance too, I bet you could easily fit 35 mm tires under those brakes.
