I'm lucky I live where I do. ALOT of extra hassle and expense getting bikes down here. And then I can't move the ones I'm finished with. And I CANNOT undo the italics setting here.

GRANT PETERSEN!

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bi...692399663.html

1991 Bridgestone lugged steel RB-2 road bike - $225 (Brookline/Coolidge Corner)

While we wait for time-travel technology to be developed, the next closest thing is to revisit the early 1990s by riding this almost all-original 1991 Bridgestone RB-2 road bike. The RB-series was designed by Grant Petersen of Rivendell fame and was well known for its fast yet comfortable ride and the choice of highly functional components to keep costs reasonable. The RB-1 is the most coveted of this line, but the RB-2 was built with the same geometry in the same factory with somewhat more robust cro-moly steel tubing and less expensive components.

This particular example is really nicely preserved with original wheels, derailleurs, shifters, brakes and levers, crankset, handlebar and stem, bar tape, cable housing, and seat post. Brand new replacement parts are tires and tubes, cables, saddle, and chain. The pedals, toe clips, and straps are not original but are period correct.

Seat tube measures 22"/56cm center to top. Top tube is 56cm center to center. Standover is 32", appropriate for folks approximately 5'6" to 5'10".

Overall, the bike has been completely rehabbed (headset and crankset cleaned and regreased with new bearings), and needs nothing. Frame has a few scrapes and decals are rubbed off in a couple of places, but overall the condition is excellent. Ready to ride for weekend club jaunts, coffee runs, or early morning sprints.

Firm price is $225, cash only. Located in Brookline/Coolidge Corner.

Came across a 60cm 1990 Batavus Randonneur GL on Marktplaats. Pretty much original and it is the origininal owner. I know it is a nice bike as I have an earlier version.

It is slightly smaller than I need but I am tempted to pick it up anyway.Somebody save me.

Its bigger than a 21 inch frame. And, the wheels are likely 27" and not 26". But looks to be in decent condition. $100
