Frame is triple-butted CrMo. Fork is CrMo. One of the last of these with a lugged frame, I think.

This bar must go! I did just enough work to make it rideable (air in the tires, non-effed-up seatpost), and except for that unnervingly bad steering position, it's great. Fast and responsive. Indexed 7-speed downtube shifting is flawless. Frame is a wee bit short seat-tube-wise, but the top-tube is just about right. So a tall enough stem/seatpost will fit the bill. Bar is already removed. Plenty of drop bars in "inventory", but I know I haven't bought any drop bar levers in recent memory, so I was fixin' to drop some more coin. Thenk I recalled that we bought a seriously abused old late '80s Nishiki back in the spring. Turns out frame had a crack, which we didn't see at time of purchase. Well, it has a set of no-name aero levers. So I'll just throw on the whole bar/stem/levers combo (tape is usable) for a few sanity-check rides.

Finish on the drive side was much more chipped up, which explains the single NDS pic in the ad. Has a bit of gold-ish metallic / flake in it; gonna be a challenge for my wife to match up.

Still has all the Exagerie, except, alas, the brake levers. Yes, I'll find some plugs/covers..... No pic of the cassette; it's no corn-cob, but it's no hill climber either. With that, and the 53, she's geared on the high side.

Some serious ham-handery, probably by whoever had it before this guy. Besides the "mishandlebar":

The pedals, ugh! Well, we just picked up a GT bullet 24"-er; for which these would be appropriate, and are better than what it has.

(No pics yet) Rims (unbranded) were drilled out for schrader, but then prestas were used again, with sleeves. Works, but icky.

Seat post was missing the bolt and the little curvy nut that it threads into. They managed to squeeze a plain-old zinc plated bolt/nut in there, with a hilarious stack of flat/lock washers. Major fail, the saddle was loose as soon as I picked it up,

This should be a quick turnaround, and a barrel of fun. Only unknowns are:
* What color tape/wrap? I already have yellow on that dark red '82-ish Trek (Ruby) I picked up earlier; it picks up the yellow bands in the seat tube panel. So that would be out of place on this bike. White gets dirty as soon as I come into the same ZIP code as the handlebar, so that's out. Maybe just the old standby black.
* Should I go for a set of Tektro (or the like) cheaters, since I'm redoing brake cables? Ruby came with some, and I kinda like. Picked up a set at a thrift store sale a while back; I was gonna put them on the wife's Diamond Back Momentum. Speaking of which, this bike is about the same year, and it's the same red/white color scheme. The two are gonna look cool together.

Local bike co-op has one of these up on eBay ATM. Next size larger, same color, better finish, the RIGHT bar/levers, replacement front wheel, old school Look pedals. Move the decimal over one.
I'm putting that type of pedal on all my road bikes. I've just grown tired of messing with toe clips.

Dude wants $420 or Taco Bell gift cards....

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bi...719424658.html

61 - 62cm Somec w/Columbus Air tubing Shimano 10 speed - $420 (Allston)

I am selling my well used Somec. 7-8 years ago, there was a seatpost stuck in it and the seat tube had to be heated up slightly so it warped the paint and it isnt pretty. The bike has been solid since then and you could get used to the paint after a while. You could also touch it up using Spray Bike at https://us.spray.bike/

The build is:

-Mostly Shimano 105 10 speed group
-Newer 11-speed 6800 Ultegra cranks/chainrings/bottom bracket (worth $150 itself)
-Mavic Kysrium wheels - Well used - need to be trued, but rideable.
-Tig welded stem (Salsa?)
-San Marco saddle. Same mold as the Rolls.
-Crappy platform pedals I tossed on there after taking off my clipless pedals.

Top tube: 61cm
Seat tube: c-c 62cm
Seat tube: c-t 63cm
Head tube: 205mm

$420 firm but could do partial trade for taco bell gift cards.

Thanks!

First one of these I've ever seen. Dig the internal cable routing THROUGH the folding main tube. And what appears to be a forerunner of the u-brake.

Glad that found a home, and that the seller is willing to hold it. Great price on a cool frame. It's my size as well, but I have my eye on another one that I plan on picking up tomorrow. Still need to sell some others (race and tour) that I've been meaning to for some time now. Lol, nothing changes!

Right? I even offered to pay extra for him to hold it and he said I was the first to email him so I could just pay pal him the asked for amount and call it even. Seriously nice guy.
Yeah I dont really need a race frame. Honestly what i need is more of tourer style with double eyelets so I can have an appropriately sized commuter. I dont think this one even has eyelets haha
I mean $25!? I'll find a use for it at that price! I do love that clearance. I'll be running 650bs for sure.

1987 Panasonic DX-2000 frame and parts pdx

A friend gave me this frame, and my plan was to strip it down, powder coat it, then build it back up. That never happened and I don't think I will ever get around to it, so time to sell. All the parts I have are in the pictures, I'm not an expert when it comes to these vintage bikes so I wouldn't be able to answer any technical questions. It looks like a small, I measured from the center of the head tube to center of the seat tube and looks like the top tube length is 20.5 inches.

$249 for one owner 72 supercourse

Good example of me not knowing for sure if this is a good deal, or a "find" per se.
Ad
For your consideration in this listing is a very nice, original Raleigh Super Course. I bought this in 1972 for $160.00 at Scotts Cycle in Salem. One rim is not original to the bike. Tires are in good shape but probably need replacing just due to age. It has the original handle bar tape, stirrups, generator light and Brooks saddle. This is one of the highly prized ones with the brass badge and filigree tube gussets. A functional collectors item. Call Glenn at show contact info
to take a look. This is a cash only sale. Thanks

That 730 is acutally an '84-'85 720. In my size. Unbelievable steal of a deal.
