I've sure been wrong about a lot of things lately on this forum...
Oh well, just another one of those things that got all mixed up in my head.
It's interesting that your 1987 fit 28c easily. I have had both 1985 and 1986 Tempos, and on the 1985 there is plenty of clearance for 28c, but on the 1986 25c tires left maybe 2mm of clearance underneath the fork crown.
I attributed that to the overall trend of skinny tires becoming so fashionable in the mid to late 1980s, and assumed that the trend would continue for the remainder of the model line.

RBT winner of the internet for a day
Fast 75MPH ONLY USE 20-22
I have a very special bike for sale.
What kind of bike? A very special bike designed by Grant Petersen, the founder of the
high end Rivendell bicycles( This is the bike he modeled the $7,000 Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen after). This bike is made in Japan with the finest Tange double butted steel and forged and machined components, including Dura-Ace bar-end shifters, machined Thomson Elite seatpost, brand new (5 miles tops) Continental 700cx28c tires on Araya VX-400 rims laced up with heavy gauge touring spokes and a high pressure Topeak $40 pump with guage in case you ever need it. It also has eyelets for fenders and to mount beefy front and rear racks to haul home roadkill. I've hauled my pet mule deer and an injured elk at the same time back from the Cascade mountains but I wouldn't suggest much more weight than that. Spokes could fail, safety first.
I've topped out at 75 miles per hour on this uphill but if you're just a regular human you'll probably top it out around 25-35 miles per hour. This thing is listed as a touring bike which Is human-code for bike tank. This bike tank has 21 speeds in total; I only use gears 20-22 to be honest.
The back reflector was removed by a thief that needed it more than me, but if you think that detered me from riding at night, you're way wrong. I practiced ninja biking in Japan's mount Fuji for 5 years and the first rule they teach about ninja biking is that back reflectors let the enemy know where you are. Not having a rear reflector is like saying "I dare you". That being said, I just installed a new rear reflector after being stopped by a cop in the south for speeding and riding with no rear reflector, so it's all legal now....
This tool of all immense men comes with a a cable lock securing the saddle and a solid Kryptonite U-lock with 2 keys to keep it secure. Using a U-lock tells people you don't mess around with your bike tank. It tells would-be-bike-thieves to go find an easier lock to break.
It it is a 58 cm frame in metal flake hunter green, probably best for someone 5'10"-6'2". Email, call, or text if you're up for the adventure of your life, which this bike will surely provide.
Thanks for reading, if you made it this far ( :

If the "offerup" date is correct the Miyata 1000 just sold yesterday and is being flipped already.

I've got a pretty awesome Ciocc road frame, it's an 83 with the original fork. The frame and fork have been used. I road this bike for years with it's original parts until I decided I needed to upgrade. So I pieced together the bike as it is now. Newer Gatorskins, Dura-ace hubs laced to Mavic rims (these spin forever), full Sram mishmash group. Rival front and rear derailleur, rival rear shifter, Force cranks, Apex front shifter, Ultegra seat post, Cinelli stem, newish bar tape. This bike is great I just don't ride road bikes anymore.
57 center to center seat tube X 56.5 center to center top tube.
Ciocc Roadbike SRAM group - $600 (Somerville)

if there is not a "0" missing from the end of that asking price, this will not last long.

1985 Bianchi Centenario in good condition. Paint is good and in fine working order. I included the pic of the handle bars to show that the bike isn't a 10/10 but it's close, especially for a 33 year old bike.
Hasn't been ridden since 2014, so tune up will be at discretion of buyer. Need gone by 10/31 so open to offers. Thanks.

Update on this bike. I was scheduled to see it at 11:00. The seller called when I was about 5 minutes away. Said he had another offer of $270. Person was coming with the lettuce. He said I could still look. Got there and took some pics. It is in mint condition. He has my number in case the other buyer falls through. You will probably see that bike on the Bay in an hour or two. The seller was a flipper from Chicago that had moved here about a year and a half ago. Was flipping here also. He was moving back to IL in the near future. He was starting to unload his bikes. Seems to be a Schwinn enthusiast. Has other brands as well. Might be a lot Schwinns on the RVA CL in the future.

Vintage late 1980's Somec complete bicycle. The bike is built with a mid 1980's Dura Ace 7400 6 speed indexed group complete with Dura Ace hubs and clincher Mavic heat treated clincher wheels. ITM handlebars and stem with an American Classic seatpost, Selle Italia saddle and Vittoria Corsa tires. Overall the frame is in superb condition given it's age with very little scratches that are noticeable. I do not know for certain what type of tubing the frame is made of but my guess it's Columbus. The frame has wonderful details including cutout lugs outlined in gold trim. The fork crown is engraved and the chrome is in perfect condition. I originally intended this to be a vintage rider but its just to small for me. Frame measures 52c-c with a 52c-c top tube. Can be easily converted to single speed. Please call Matt show contact info
