So question for Rockfishies / Beloitiods / Belvideers - is this swap worth an hour's drive and a fiver? The Madison swap is coming up in January, and it's supposedly the largest in the midwest, so maybe I'll just wait for that.

The Rockford show is mostly balloon tire and vintage/classic bikes, very little in the way of road bikes.

The Madison swap in January and the Chicago swap in February (back at the Harper College venue in Palatine in 2019!) are much better bets for road bikes & gear, with Madison being the bigger of the two and a must-attend if you haven't before.

^^^^ 2018 was the first Madison swap I've missed in a long time. We adopted a cat that day (yes, he's on the "Show your cats" thread), so that took priority. Hard to believe it's been almost a year.....

2017 Raleigh Clubman - Carbon w/ color-matched fenders - Wisconsin

This is a very good-looking bike with the color-matched fenders mounted. It also comes with a Brooks saddle.

He wants $760 - a Google search shows new pricing at $1200 + for a 2017.

I agree. I was there last year but didn't see much in the road bike category. I am going on Sunday though anyhow. It's only 45 miles from me so not too bad.

Yeah, way overpriced, and he can't even bother to change the roached out tires? Pass. Neat bike, but it's not the REALLY COOL year with the biplane front fork.
