This posted on steel is real FB page this morning. At first glance I thought it was a rebrand, like a Masek, but it seems legit! $800 for a Merckx cyclocross bike with STX

$150 (Canadian), about $115 US
At first I thought nice shape but a bit high a price.
Then I note the front and rear racks, fenders, helmet, double water bottle mounts (detachable one on rear), downtube shifters and finally a Brooks seat. I assume that's a pump mount on downtube so maybe he has a pump as well....
Can't see the headtube length unfortunately.

In Fort Worth: Not my size (it's 21", I need 24") and I don't need it, but for $20 I'd grab it if it were my size. Looks like a classic late '70s-early '80s touring frame with some very nice features.
No ID on the frame but it looks like a good 'un, 4130 cromo.
Stronglight crank
Looks like 50 or 52/38 or so chainring
Suntour Cyclone M-II front derailleur, presumably rear as well tho' no pix to confirm.
I bought my '92 Univega and '89 Ironman from this fellow. He flips a lot of bikes, mostly buying complete bikes and cleaning 'em up and making them safe and ready to ride at very reasonable prices. I'm guessing he just doesn't have time to rebuild this one. Be a good project for someone who has the time, parts, etc.
If you can ID the frame please let me know and I'll pass it along to Bill. He's done me a favor and I'd like to return the favor.

I don't think it really needed for that wheels, or maybe they did it to shorten the spokes in this case. I don't think it was ever a common practice but like tying and sodiering it was something people did to make wheels stiffer or just cool.

Update: He responded, derailleur hanger OK and I picked it up this evening. Has a Peugeot-ish vibe to it with the Stronglight crankset, Huret cable guides, etc. It will fit 650BX42 wheels with room to spare for fenders. I plan to use it as a practice frame for spreading the rear triangle and if all goes well may consider building it up. $20 well spent for the Cyclone derailleur and the crankset which will polish up nicely.

1985 Bridgestone Grand Velo 2000 - 25" / 63.5cm - $475 - Paint is MINT. Many of the components are. Cranks aren't original but still quality. Wheels don't match (bummer). This would be a treat to have. It would also be a treat to have the space for it. Perhaps someone else's grail find???

I texted and called him but no response. The picture suggests that the rear derailleur attachment may be mangled. Too fuzzy to tell.

I try to limit my visits to Bill's place to once a year or I'll clutter up my apartment worse than it already is. Besides the stuff on craigslist he often has other goodies stashed away. I hesitated on another Ironman he had that was identical to the one I bought from him in 2017, and it was gone within a few days. But I might pester him for some spare wheels for my Ironman so I can switch between 700x23 slicks and softer 700x25 tires more easily.

There are no drive-side photos, and there doesn't seem to be a higher-resolution picture than below. He's guessing the size is 54mm, which is close enough for me, but it looks more like 56 to me, which is too big. It's the next town over from me, though. Maybe I'll check it out. This is a bad month, money-wise, though.
Looks like it was a little small for whomever owned/rode it before. Seat post is higher than usual for someone around 5'11" and 33" inseam or so.
