If there is a local bike co-op, they would be happy to take them.

You could bone-pick them (or not) and then put them in some location, such as beside a MUP, where they'd likely be seen by an interested party, with a "Free" sign on them. We've found a couple bikes that way. Could even post a CL ad in the Free section with the location.

I have a 54 cm road bike frame and two smallish hybrid frames. You guys are all on the east coast, and I am in CA. I have no problem with throwing them out, and any thrift store I donate them to, I will make sure they won't get tossed prior to handing them over. I was just using GW as an example. I know from personal experience that they are the most evil of all the thrift store chains, in their business practices. I have never, and will never donate anything to that place, I know better. I do buy stuff from them sometimes though.

I tried a 60cm Sam Hillborne that also had a double top tube and I found it really heavy and stiff. I rode it a few times and sold it on. I also took Rivendell's advice and put Schwalbe Marathon Green Guard tires (700 x 38mm) on it and they could have caused part of the sluggishness of the ride. I just checked and they no longer have a double top tube model so my guess is they realized their error.
It scared me on production frames because I now wonder if they were designed for 300 pounds in case someone heavy breaks one and sues. Having a 35" inseam means I should ride a 24" frame, but I wonder if they were designed for people 6' 2", 225 pounds and not 5' 10", 180 pound me. I bought the Sam Hillborne to get my handlebars high enough, but now I realize I just need to work hard on my flexibility and core strength in order to fit standard bikes without getting back and shoulder issues. I just don't have the money for a custom.

Not real vintage, but if anybody is looking for a mini-Madone... somewhat rare now.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/TREK-MADONE...-/223462089650
650c wheels.
Looks purple in one photo, but I think it is blue.

Steel tubing is rust/dent free (seat tube internally is MINT) paint and decals are 100% original! Still very vibrant with just normal signs of wear! I'm not exactly sure which Campagnalo groupset this is but every piece is ornate and nearly MINT!! cranks and sprockets show miniscule signs of wear and the brake calipers and pads are mint also. The F.I.R rims are true and the rim edges show minimal signs of wear also. Must see simply gorgeous! I pretty much left it the way i purchased except for installing period correct contiental SS tires and I sprayed it down with WD40 for preservation purposes. They don't make em nearly as nice as this anymore! Serious inquires only please sold on a first come first serve basis only please no exceptions

Hand-built for a special lady by one of Mr. Bilenkys right-hands.
That builder went on to found his own frame building shop & his own brand of hand-built frame.
Built of Reynolds & Tange tubing
Accommodates 26 (559) wheels, internal hub gearing & internal hub brakes.
S & S Couplers allow it to come apart for easy storage and/or travel.
No dents or dings.
Some typical signs of use.
Brand new you would likely be paying about 3 times the price posted here.

I think having two top tubes would make it stronger so it would be more resistant to bending in a head-on collision. That's the only advantage I can think of. Well, it might look cool, so there's that.
And should they be called top tubes? Shouldn't they be called a top tube and a middle tube?

His and Hers Fat Chance Kicker bicycles. Original owners. Meticulously maintained. All original components. Excellent condition. Ridable and functional like the day they were built.
Please read the entire post (or at least most of it) before replying. I'm willing to negotiate to a reasonable price, so offer accordingly. Asking $800 for each; $1500 for both, $2,000 includes all the swag).
His: 19.5" / 49.5 mm
Hers: 18" / 46 mm
Measured center of bottom bracket to center of top tube at the seat post.
The components are 95% original, primarily first generation Deore XT (deer head). The cranks, seat posts and pedals are what was available in stock at the Somerville Avenue storefront factory the day we built them.
On His the pedals, tires, and seat post binder were upgraded when Shimano released these as Deore XT components (still have the original components).
Major Fixes: His: A few broken and replaced spokes. New chain. His and Hers: The crank axle collars (these bottom brackets have the pressed-in bearings) have been replaced. His was ridden thousands of miles (though not in the past 20 years), Hers maybe a few hundred. The orange powder coat is starting to peel from His (more than Hers) but there's no rust. Both His and Hers spent their entire lives indoors.
His is the actual "model" used in the 1985 catalog. In the posted photos, you'll see the actual prints and chromes from the photo shoot, used when the catalog was produced and printed.
When we built His and Hers, he decided to affix the older decals to these frames (the Balloon Font logo). Look closely and you'll notice the new logo is used on the catalog page but the downtube has the older logo. Sorry, He really liked the original look.
The memorabilia and bicycles are part of our personal collection. He served as the Fat City marketing communication consultant from 1983-1985, and continued the collection in subsequent years as the brand began to gain in popularity. There's the Chris Chance Cycles first catalog of road bicycles. The direct mail piece announcing the Kicker, prepared for dealers. Yo Eddy team jersey (Size Small). Even the first Ritchey catalog from California builder Tom Ritchey. It's a great chronology of the dawn of custom built mountain bikes and in particular the Fat City Cycles marketing communication story.
Other odd items include the installation instructions from the box the Shimano Deore XT Derailleur Set and cantilever brakes came from.
(Also in our personal collection but not shown: Original "shark fin" chainstay protector in the original packaging; Bell V1 Pro (the first purpose made mountain biking helmet; early black and white Chouinard Equipment Climbing catalogs from 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1985 -- before Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, sold the climbing hardware business to Black Diamond Equipment, plus more).
Not looking to make a killing on this collection, just find someone who appreciates and respects what these items represent. Ideally you're interested in the entire lot. Willing to sell individually too.
Serious inquiries only, please. Thank you.

Thank you.
