Vintage Steel for all Budgets: Pinarello, JP Weigle, Shogun, etc. - $150 (Maine)
https://maine.craigslist.org/bik/685...?lang=en&cc=gb
Vintage CrMo bikes, some with pictures, some not yet.
Pinarello Gavia (Red)
The Gavia was Pinarello's top of the line frame of the early '90s. (It was only sold as a frame, for $700.) it was made with Columbus TSX which was their best tubing of the early '90s, frame includes a beautiful Pinarello bottom bracket shell. This is built up for randonneur riding (bar end shifters, etc.) I'd throw in a more classic set of rando bars. The build is fairly eclectic, some nice campy parts (crank, FD, headset) other parts are purely functional. Mechanically it runs great. Cosmetic wear on the frame. Size is large about 60cm but the bike is shockingly comfortable, I'm 6' and it fits me great. This bike is a rider not a wall hanger and a real deal vintage Italian road bike at an affordable price. $550 (or $350 for the frame + Campy headset, BB, crankset, front derailleur, and seatpost).
Univega Gran Tourismo (Silver)
Classic touring bike with canti brakes, triple chain ring, slack geometry, etc. Univegas were said to be made by Miyata so the Gran Tourismo is roughly the equivalent of a Miyata 612. This one looks like it is from the mid-'80s. It might not be quite as nice as a Miyata 1000 from the same time period it is certainly better than the older 610. Size is medium, about 55cm, price much cheaper than a Surly Long Haul Trucker. $260
Bridgestone NB-26
A very rare Grant Petersen-era Bridgestone, doesn't show up in the catalogues. Designed as a commuter with ample space for racks and fenders, this could also be converted into a nice touring bike. Bike is large, about 18, good for riders 5'9-6' or thereabouts. Bike is surprisingly fast; probably has under 200 miles on it in its lifetime. $200
Shogun 400
Double-butted CrMo XXL frame (good for riders 6'4"- 6'10) at least 65cm c-c. Bike is clean and in generally good condition but needs a wheel true'd (about $15). $150 as-is.
Swift Folder
The simply ingenious (and ingeniously simple) Swift Folder Bicycle. Swifts are unique among folding bikes in that the seatpost acts as a central pin which holds the frame together, the result is a very stiff folder that doesn't take a learning curve to fold quickly. The bike is set up as a 'fast commuter" 1x8 gearing and large tires give that give a comfortable all-purpose ride. Bike has full fenders, a front rack and an ingenious rear rack with a pannier. Will throw in a 7-speed Nexus internal rear wheel for another $35. Built in Brooklyn.
Home ($275)
Ross Mountain Bike (Black)
Ross was one of the first companies to produce mountain bikes. This is an early example with bull moose bars and Ishiwata 024 tubing. Large frame. $110
Raliegh International (Frame only)
A beat up, dented, and badly repainted old Raleigh that for some reason I think is an International which was their 2nd best bike at the time. Nerves lugs. Whatever it is it rides very nicely. Large frame about 24" or 61 cm $20 (includes chain, derailleurs, etc. - No fork)
JP Weigle Special - frame (Blue)
A beautiful handmade race frame built in the late '70s for a CAT 1 racer. This is a high end example by one of America's best frame builders (rank him next to Richard Sachs, Andy Gilmore, or anyone else). Aside from the near perfect paint the frame is remarkable for its track-style dropouts which the previous owner used to bring the back wheel forward to 'stiffen' the bike (it is very rare to see track drop outs with a derailleur hanger). The bike had been most recently been built up with 2x10 Campy so any era equipment should work. A smaller, lesser Weigle is on ebay for well over $1,000 About 54 cm. $675

Pretty sure the seller means $150, not $1500. Right?....Right?

Hi, I'm selling this classic Waterford 2200 racer. I love this bike, and built it up myself, but I just don't ride it enough and need to make room for other bicycles. The overall build is very light and comfortable at just over 20 pounds.
FRAME:
It's a classic, lugged steel frame Waterford racing bike. The 2200 is the custom 853/True Temper OX Platinum lugged execution of the road racing geometry, which you can find here: https://waterfordbikes.com/road-race/.
The frame was painted ten years ago at the Waterford factory, but overall the paint is very good with just a few nicks that have been retouched.
Measurements:
- 580 mm seat tube c-c
- 575 mm top tube c-c
- 20.5 pounds
BUILD:
Complete Shimano Ultegra 6800 groupset:
- chainset - 11 speed / 175mm / 34/50 / grey
- English (BSA) bottom bracket
- cassette - 11-28 / 11 speed
- chain (fairly good shape)
- center-mount calipers
- front derailleur, braze on
- rear derailleur - 11 speed / short cage SS
- STI Levers - 11 speed / black cables
Handbuilt wheels:
- 105 hubs
- Velocity Fusion rims
- DT double-butted spokes
- Continental Grand Prix 4000S II 700c road tires, 25 front, 23 back -- decent shape
Cockpit:
- Nitto Noodle 177 handlebar 26.0mm, 46 cm
- Nitto Tallux stem, ST1-2609 - 26.0mm - 9cm
- Nitto S65 Crystal Fellow seat post 27.2 x 250
- Fizik bar-tape
- Brooks Cambium C17 saddle, carved
- Shimano SPD pedals
If you don't want both the saddle and the pedals, then I'll take them and $100 off the price.
Please send your phone number with your response.

^^^^^^ And they're complementary - if you park them facing each other, the paint fades of the two combined represent the complete color spectrum, in correct order. Would be a shame if they're not adopted out together.

I'd buy that bike in a heartbeat. There is an overpriced gran sport on eBay that the seller wants $435 for with original (and not as nice) parts. I really like this blue and white combo.
