Not sure I agree with you. It's all about the paint and it seems in pretty good shape from the pics. People have paid a lot more for a lot less. 105 crank, brakes, levers (?) and shifters is a good start. I may be partial. That paint has metallic flakes and looks like it would clean up nice. Black and gray is also some of the easiest to touch up. Decals look fully intact. Looks like there could be a diamond under that grime. If I didn't already have one ....

1974 Gitane Tour de France Road Bike - $400 (Apex, NC)
"1974-5 Gitane Tour de France Road Bike that is in great condition. The bike is mostly original except for the seat and front derailleur. The brake and derailleur cables were replaced when the front derailleur was replaced in 1993.
Other items included with the bike: unused spare tire, original Velox tire repair kit, some of the original Mafac brake wrenches that came with it in 1975 and a compact “Pocket Rocket tire pump.

Different.... The tire-driven dynamo takes the whole "Euro-metro" theme just a step too far. If they went to the trouble of an IGH in the rear, they should have put a dynamo hub in the front.

It would take some work to bring it up to speed but if I were in the Ventura area (and didn't already have one) I'd have no issues dropping $175 on this Bob Jackson. It looks like it mostly needs a good cleaning, and very nice that the seller still has the Cinelli/3TTT bar/stem combo to go with it and get rid of those things that it currently sports.

This one started being listed a few weeks ago as a black spray painted bike. The seller has been gradually getting the paint off as time goes by. now listed as a Lemans.
