This Falcon is tempting me so much, despite not having the space for another ride. Full Reynolds 531 frame and fork. Decent and underrated Shimano Sante groupset.

I am looking for a used, mid range, road or hybrid bike for my son. Probably something less than 10 years old. This one seems like a decent bike though I cant judge the condition from the pic. Thoughts?
2011 Grand Record

2011 Grand Record

But, I actually had one of these for a little while and found it to be a pretty capable road bike. Not sluggish, really. For what it is, and what you can buy them for now, it's actually surprisingly good. Mine was a little too small for me, so I sold it. Also, for what it's worth, I've since had experience with another, newer aluminum BikesDirect road bike, and found that the older one--my Grand Record said "7005 AL" on the side the same as the one in the pic, unlike the newer ones that all say "6061 AL"-- to be superior. I know it's a ridiculous thing to posit, but are BikesDirect bikes getting worse? Will somebody, someday, be coveting those rare, early year models?

Poor old molested '83-ish Trek. Sold within about four hours; let's hope it went to someone willing to make it a bicycle again.

Great steel road bike looking for a new home. I just don't have enough room for another bike at my place. I bought it from Bikes Not Bombs in Jamaica Plain in November 2018. Previous owner converted this bike to single speed, but kept the quill stem, so you can probably add drop handles at some point if you're interested (and add gears).
Bike is 19"/48cm (I'm 5'4" and have just enough clearance when I stand over the bike).
Other information:
- Frame and fork are Columbus Thron
- Campagnolo Veloce brakeset (caliper)
-Stay-Tuff chainstay protector
- Rockbros saddle bought off Amazon
- Hutchinson Equinox tires
- Ergon GX1 handlebar grips (comfortable)
- Water bottle cage and bike bell included if you're interested
Please let me know if you have additional questions or need more info. Cash or Venmo.

Not ebay or craigslist but the shop does have a very well known and reputable ebay storefront.
https://www.theproscloset.com/produc...55cm-bike-1985

I highly recommend the lucky buyer to remove the egregious downtube sticker (carefully).
