Vintage Schwinn Project Bike - $40 (Five Points)
"Selling a vintage Schwinn that was my dad's back in the 70's I think? Don't have a ton of info on the thing besides what you can see in the photos, but have always intended to clean it up for myself and haven't found the time.
Stored indoors so paint is in good shape, definitely a bit of rust but mostly looks like it could be cleaned up.
Wheels are incredibly old/flat/broken so haven't rode it recently, but it rode well as of about five years back and has been stored since.
Has a friction generator on back wheel that powers a headlight, and a cool fold up/down basket/seat thing in the back.

"purchased from a local shop a number of years ago because it reminded me of a bike i raced in the 90s, i wanted it for display purposes, been indoors during my ownership. it had a few non-dura-ace components when i bought it, i replaced them so it now has the complete group, down to the bottom bracket. mavic ma40 rims, cinelli bars and stem, custom paint job including a matching silca frame mount pump. i believe it's a 51cm. air up the tires and it's 100% rideable, brakes and shifts great. located in raleigh, nc. selling because i'm downsizing. if you see this post the bike is available, no need to ask."

Very nice condition 1986 Schwinn Peloton Racing Bike. Lightweight steel fully chromed under the paint and Suntour Superbe Dropouts. 16 speeds. 56cm top tube and 57 cm seat tube. Shoes (size 43.5) and cleats to go with pedals included. No dents or dings however some scratches on the frame.

I don't follow. Smaller wheels (if you could get the brakes to work) would lower the bike, but they wouldn't reduce the distance between saddle and cranks. Or maybe you're joking? Sorry, I have a broken joke detector.
