Is anyone near this? This looks like a lower end model with Z series but something about the blue and chrome gets to me. It looks like it might be a tad bigger than 57 so I am wondering what the standover height might be.
I happen to mention to my sister that there was a bike in Madison I wanted to check out and hr reply was something like, well it is only about 5 and half hours away. While she is right that is a 11 hour trip for $100 bike. Her and bunch of her card crafting friends spent yesterday going to several crafting stores in Michigan so I guess she knows the struggle if in a different way.

Quoting from CL:
I have for sale a 1981 TREK 750. 56cm Reynolds 531 frame and fork. Campagnolo everything including dropouts, brazed on cable guides and even the vintage water bottle. Nisi Countach tubular rims. 13/23 6 speed Regina freewheel. 52/34 chain wheels. Selle Ecco leather saddle in very nice condition (I will be glad to keep the saddle and knock $50 off the price). Ridden regularly and maintained likewise. Paint and decals are good condition considering its age.
bicycle frame material: steel
bicycle type: road
brake type: caliper
condition: excellent
frame size: 56cm
handlebar type: drop
make / manufacturer: Trek
model name / number: 750
serial number: 008832
wheel size: 700C
New
Cables and housings
Brooks leather bar tape
Chain, tires and brake pads have roughly 500 miles on them. All bearings were serviced in October '18.
I hate to sell this bike as it has become my most favorite bike I have ever owned. It is time to face the fact that it is too tall for me.
Please call or text, for faster response, with any questions or interest.
$525 obo. Cash or PayPal only.
I may also be interested in a trade of a comparable bike in a slightly smaller frame size (52-54)
Thanks for looking

The best part about my new location (I recently moved out of Portland 6 months ago after living there 15 years) is that even though most of what comes through on CL in Corvallis (and surrounding areas) is absolute junk. Plenty of Magna's, Iron Horse, etc. but every now and then there are some absolute gems and they completely go under the radar. I watched a De Rosa in good shape go for $400 and I just scored a CIOCC in like new condition for $380. This World Voyageur doesn't seem to be that caliber but it seems like a fine score assuming you look past the single speed conversion. I've read it was one step down from the Paramount. The chrome lugging and gorgeous orange paint looks to be in wonderful shape. Those two elements give it a very Centurion Semi-Pro'esque feel.

A pristine looking PX-10 in Milwaukee. Assume the wheels would have been tubular originally. Wonder if those are still around.

Another one in Atlanta. Pretty bike.
https://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/b...940655268.html

Anyone know what the stem is? Could be original or not, I have no idea but I like the look and the front closure looks easy-access, I might like to have one like that.

Odd duck - from a bit of research, they really did bolt several bike-boom-ish components on a 531 frame (and skimped on the braze-ons as well).

Don't know anything about Bridgestones (other than the obvious) I think this is bottom of the line. I could facilitate this coming weekend.

BIG Merckx. Hi-end frames this large are rare. Very rare.
https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bi...942094732.html

This isn't just a custom 80s Eddy Merckx road bike, it might be the biggest one ever built. It has a 71cm seat tube and 65 cm top tube center to center. Racing geometry based on the Corsa Extra, it's SLX tubing with Campy drop outs, Campy headset, bottom bracket and seat post. It runs a Shimano 600 tricolor 7-speed indexed groupo, nitto stem and modolo bars, fizik bar tape and turbo saddle. It has low mileage Mavic open pro rims and Dura Ace front hub and Ultegra rear with 700x23c Continental four season tires (fits at least 28s if installed flat). It climbs, brakes and corners well.
I've owned it almost 15 years and bought it from the original owner here in MA. Date codes and frame details place it as a 1985. It was ordered through International Bicycle in Brighton, MA which was bought by another shop and other records are unavailable.
It shows typical component and frame wear for its age and use but has no mechanical or structural issues. Stem, tape, tubes, cables and housing, hoods, and saddle were recently replaced and headset was serviced.
Original owner was 6'-5". I'm 6'-7" but believe it could fit someone up to 7' with stem and seatpost adjustments. Standover is ~37.5". Forward to all your tall friends!
Pedals shown are not included.
Happy to share more photos and details.
Any boxing or shipping will be at the buyer's expense.
