Lower end Miyatas are still pretty good....

+1 on previous answer. That bike is essentially restored to as new condition. I think it deserves it's pricetag.

We are having our annual Rummage Sale on June 5th and 6th. We need bicycles as that is always a great item for us. If you have a bicycle in decent condition(we can do minor fixing) to donate it would be greatly appreciated. We need adult and kids bikes as well. We alos need other donations such as furniture, housewares, tools, home decor and anything else you might have that may be of use to someone else. We can do some local pickups(time and resource permitting) if you are in the town of Islip.
https://www.stmarks-islip.org/
You can drop off your items as well at the church.

Peugeot PGN-10 Road Bike - $250 (Newton)

Date: 2010-06-02, 9:34PM EDT
Reply to: sale-nzekt-1772458400@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Classic Peugeot PGN-10 road bike circa 1985.

Stored indoors since purchased new from Bicycle Exchange in Harvard Square.

Reynolds 501 lugged frame and chromed 501 fork. Frame is 22-inches from center of bottom bracket to center of top tube.

Campagnolo Record brakeset and hubs.

Campagnolo Nuovo Record bottom-pull front derailleur.

Mavic MA40 wheel rims, Continental tires.

Vetta leather saddle.

Shimano 105 shifters and rear derailleur.

Paint is an 8.5 out of 10 with a few small rust spots on the top tube. Interiors of frame tubes, rear triangle tubes, and fork have been spray lubricated periodically to ensure integrity of metal.

I will include a pair of Campagnolo Record platform pedals with toeclips and straps (clipless pedals shown in photos are NOT included)

This bike is a classic and deserves to be ridden and enjoyed.

Note: The Campy parts on this bicycle are worth more than the asking price for the whole bicycle, so, please, no lowballers, bottom feeders, etc.

Also, local pickup only, cash only, no trades, no scammers, etc.

No photos, but the Trenton Bike Exchange has a pair of black Armstrong Roadsters; a man's model and a woman's model. 28" front wheels with rod brakes, but rear wheels have been replaced with 26" wheels with TCW III hubs (1965), which is a bummer; both trigger shifters are new, too, so I can't put a date on them. Pretty old, though; both have the (pre-war?) style 7-shaped seat posts.

The Bike Exchange does not have the resources to restore them, but they could be lovely. Anyone interested?

Motobecane Grand Record - 1974, full 531 - $350 (Central Square, Cambridge)

Date: 2010-06-03, 9:38AM EDT
Reply to: sale-kmptp-1772922181@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

1974 57 cm Motobecane Grand Record Classic Road Bike.

Truly a beautiful and mostly original road/touring bike from the better part of Motobecane's output in the 1970s - i.e., the early '70s.

This was the third most expensive bike in the Motobecane line up and features 531 tubing throughout (not just main tubes) beautiful lug work and Campagnolo drop outs. as good as it gets for that era.

It has:

Full 531 frame, 57cm size. Top tube 58cm.

Campagnolo Nuovo Record front and rear derailleurs stamped '74. Levers Campy also.

Gran Compe brakeset - not original but good quality and work great.

TA 170mm crankset.

Wobler Super Champion rims.

Brooks Pro saddle converted in to a swallow style - very comfortable and well done conversion.

Nitto bars and stem with fresh tape.

Rides fast, light, well balanced but kind on bumpier surfaces. Great for fast city use and perfect compromise on touring but still quick.

Another project forces the sale for me.

Looking for $350.

Email for larger pics.

While it is nearer the bottom of Miyata's line for 1986, Miyata's Triple Butted Chro Moly frames are wonderful. Miyata enjoy a great reputation among members of this forum. $225 is at the high end for a bike with this level of components.

But man, that sure is one pretty bike and it looks like the seller did a wonderful job refurbishing that one.
Thanks for the info, what originally caught me was how pretty and clean this bike is

Vintage racer. Hard to believe but this bike was never ridden indoors or
outdoors. All professional parts including Sun Tour Aero derailleur. Will need new rubber. Always carefully covered, dust and corrosion free. Made in Japan not Taiwan or China. Beautiful bike for serious rider at bargain price(price not negotiable). Unique "splatter" paint scheme. E-mail me for additional info.

I was a bit bored yesterday so I wrote to the seller and here is what I asked and what I got.

Hello

I am not familiar with a S-10s but I am looking for anice older Fuji. do you have any pics of this and wht size is it? are the wheels quick release?

you do not simply own a Bianchi
you have a relationship with your
Bianchi
Trina "Celeste" B

the reply was:

Hi Trina,
This is a professional racer, everything comes apart with
the right tools. Metric bike tools, not home tools. Of course the wheels have knock offs and quick release. This is a
beautiful machine that needs to be inspected to appreciate
the quality alloys and craftsmanship. I believe it is 26".
I don't think a digital picture will do it justice. It is in like new
condition but will need tires and tubes due to age induced dry rot. You are welcome to come to my house to check the bike out. (Palos Heights)

RALEIGH CARLTON ROAD BIKE 58cm - $175 (Valley Forge)

Date: 2010-06-03, 6:51AM EDT
Reply to: sale-xjcfn-1772188595@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Excellent vintage Raleigh Carlton men's 10 speed British road bike from the mid 60's, 58cm Reynolds 531 steel lugged/butted frame, GB engraved aluminum handlebars and GB alloy stem, Weinmann high flange alloy wheels with quick release, Weinmann alloy brakes and levers with cable adjusters and quick release, forged Williams cranks, Huret/Simplex derailleurs, chrome racing pedals. Bike has brand new black GT2 road tires and new brake and shifter cables. Paint and chrome are very good, no rust, nice shine. Recent tune up and lubrication, all parts cleaned and adjusted.. Fine riding bicycle. The vintage parts on this bike are worth lots more than the price but it shouldn't be broken up--rather see it ridden as is. Really nice retro ride. $175.00, worth more, need to sell.

Almost totaly original 1970 Raleigh Carlton, with sought after Reynolds 521 frame and Brooks leather seat.
Great bike, runs well, kept indoors all these years. Good brakes, newer bars. I hate to give it up but some
nasty leg surgery prevents me from riding again. Original paint/seat.
A great bike for collectors or distance travel- I rode it in Apple Cider Century over 25 years ago. ( if you don't
know what the 'Century' is, this bike might not be for you. It was built for speed and endurance)
260 or best offer by this Sunday

1984 Thame / Campagnolo - $975 (Chicago)

British gem. Super clean and unmolested low mileage 1984 Thame built criterium frameset brazed with Reynolds 531 double-butted throughout. Serial # 589. Seat tube c-c 64cm, top tube 58cm, standover 89cm, wheelbase @ 104.5 (suitable for 6'4"+/- rider). Full Pat 83 NR but for LaPrade Modele Reserve seatpin. Cinelli 66-42’s through a 120mm 1R. Mavic Module E-2 wheelset and ‘80 Brooks Professional. Straight, no crashes corrosion. This machine was measured to fit by Roy at the Putney shop and saw limited use as the original owner (who still is) had a stable of high-end lightweights distributed worldwide to accommodate convenience in travel. Always stored within living quarters. The bike resides in Chicago. Apologies for the quick and dirty image, more demonstrative forthcoming… (higher res of this available). Thanks for looking.

I've got a 58cm Schwinn Paramount track bike that was custom made for World Champion Michel Vaarten when he rode for the Wheaties/Schwinn pro team in the late 80's. The bike was handbuilt with Columbus steel tubing at Schwinn's Paramount factory in Waterford, Wisconsin. The bike was only ridden on the velodrome for one season and is in great shape, there are just some decal scratches on the fork.

It includes:
Cinelli track bars
Shimano Dura Ace stem with internal clamp and quill
Shimano Dura Ace bottom bracket and Ultegra 600 headset
32 spoke Wolber Profil 18 tubular rims built up on high-flange Shimano Dura Ace hubs.

Dimensions are 58cm seat tube and top tube measured center to center.

Here is a nice looking womens super sport. It's at $15.59 with about 14 hours to go. Might make a nice bike for a girlfriend or wife, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it.

Cool olmo, rough shape, high price. Prices are always high here. Sucks.

Olmo Nuovo Super Sprint, from the early 1980's. It appears all original, except maybe the rims (the rear rim is a Mavic, and the front an Ambrosio 19 Extra). Heavy pantographing throughout the bike. The equipment on it is all Campagnolo, with "G.S." stamped on the crank and brake calipers, and "Nuovo Record" on the rear derailer. The freewheel says "Regina America" and has six sprockets.
To be clear, the bike has rust and oxidation. This vintage Italian jewel needs to be restored, and is being sold "as is." That said, I believe with air in the tires, various lube and adjustments, the bike could be ridden today. The wheels are true.
I did a web search to see how to measure the frame, and took some measurements. I am not an expert. I did the best I could, but if my measurements look way off, like I screwed up, please let me know and I will do them over. Also, if you need me to measure something else, let me know. Thanks.
Top tube, center to center: 550mm
Seat tube, crank center to top tube center: 570mm
Seat tube, crank center to seat tube top (aprox because of scalloped design): 585mm
Length, axle to axle (rear axle closer to front of adjustment): 1000mm
Crank height, center to ground (flat tires): 245mm
Crank length, center to center: 170mm
Handle bar stem, center to center: 125mm

I am not a bike expert, so please ask any questions and have some patience with my answers. High-resolution pictures on request.
