I've still got this bike. Still haven't gotten bored with it. Would love to try one of the ST500 or ST600 bikes, but need a (ideally) 58-60. The one you linked is huuuuuge even for my shrinking 6' skeleton. But it's well-worth the price IMHO. If it provided me anywhere near the enjoyment I get out of my ST500, I'd pay upwards of $300-350 for it if it's in excellent shape.

Like this?

If this is desirable it might already be gone. I already have a Trek, though this seems like it would fit me.

I am still on the fence over that beautiful Bertoni, but spied this interesting Bianchi on FB market place. I like it a lot until I realized it is in the Metro Detroit are about a 5 to 6 hour round trip. It is a '92 Backstreet which is actually the top of the line hybrid for those years. The frame is listed as D.B. Tange tubing, the group seems to be Suntour/Diacompe FS-E with daul pivot brakes. It comes with 700x38 tires. I bet this would make a great gravel grinder. The MSRP must have been around $500-530ish , the current asking price is $150 and he says he wants it gone so maybe he will deal.
The bike behind it is probably an '89 Incline, full DB ChroMO (I think the same frame as the Grizzly) with Mountain LX but I don't see it listed on Marketplace.

and not just any 700x38s, I think I see those fantastic Avocet CX tires.

Failure Of The Will
Vintage late 50’s - early 60’s Triumph single speed bicycle - $375 (Charleston)

"Triumph
Single speed Men’s bicycle
post 1955
Made in England
Triumph has a long history of producing motors cycles. After WWII, they went into the bicycle business...successfully. Raleigh manufactured Triumph bicycles after 1955.
This a Raleigh made model with a brazed lug frame, ‘Brooks’ leather saddle, and Sturmey - Archer rear hub. All period original with the exception of tires and kickstand. New -Kenda’ tires and a c. 1980’s cast aluminum kickstand.
It sits rather tall with a top frame rail height of 31.5”. The seat sits about 36” with post down.
Very good, original condition with great graphics. I was going to modify this with modern aluminum rims/hubs and different bars but have too many projects going. It’s a little dusty from sitting in the shop but ride ready and geared fast.
$375. Chris (843)697-0372

https://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/bi...983329479.html

Vintage 1984 Fat Chance, first generation bike hand built in Somerville, MA with low 2-digit serial number (4 digit if you include the year). Black steel frame with first gen balloon decals, lugged fork. (The bikes were all painted black back then unless you custom ordered one in a certain color). Nitto 23" racing bullmoose bars (as opposed to the standard 27"), Grab-On foam grips with rips, Magura brake levers with unripped boots, LaPrade BMX 22.2mm seatpost (RARE), Avocet saddle, Specialized headset, Shimano M700 XT Dearhead component group, SR AeroX 175mm crankset w/ Shimano pedals, 18-speed, Ukai 26x1.50 polished wheelset w/ Sansin hubs. Has its original bottom bracket aluminum collars (usually cracked). The frame does have plenty of patina from its time riding through the green mountains of Vermont, but no rust through, or dents or dings. It needs new cables to be rideable. In any event, if you are reading this then you know exactly what it is and how ridiculously hard it is to find a complete first generation Fat Chance. Please leave a name and number if interested.

Centurion Elite RS - $150 (Metro Delivery Available)

Mid 1980s higher end Centurion and built as an entry level racing geometry, 21 inch frame 31 inch stand over height lots of nice components including Shimano 600 and Biopace crankset, minor paint scrapes but no damage or dents, nice city ride for smaller rider, it never ceases to amaze me what you have to spend in a bike shop nowadays to get into a 105/Ultegra ride, this bike rides out just as nice and its about 10 percent or less of retail for an equivalently-equipped road bike, just get out there and ride, Todd 774-249-2198

Take advantage of this great opportunity to own the only bike you'll want to ride. It's so much fun, stable yet nimble - the best and most versatile steel bike out there - designed by the one and only Grant Petersen from Rivendell in Walnut Creek, CA.
I'm selling my black and cream Sam Hillborne bicycle, originally built by Harris Cyclery in Newton. Full bikes like this go for $3,000 new.
This frame is too large for me so this could be your chance to own a beautiful randonneuring, commuting, bikepacking lugged steel country bike. I think this size is ideal for someone 6' or taller (PBH 91-96cm see more here https://www.rivbike.com/pages/pubic-...asure-your-pbh )
The bike has been well maintained and always stored in a garage. Overall, it's in excellent condition with some normal signs of wear.
It's built up with:
Wheels & Tires: Hand built by Rich Lesnik (Hands On Wheels), Shimano LX hubs, Velocity Synergy rims, 36 spoked with Panaracer Pasela PT 700x38
Fenders: Velo Orange Zeppelin 52mm
Handlebar: Soma Portola
Shifters: Silver shifters, friction bar-end
Nitto Stem 26.0
Brake Levers: TRP RRL Ergo
Brakes: Dia Compe
Crank : Sugino XD
New bottom bracket
Nitto seatpost
*saddle not included
The only thing you need is a saddle, pedals and new handlebar tape to customize it and make it truly yours.
From Rivendell:
It’s a country bike. That’s what we call it. But most people don’t know what that is exactly so to kowtow to categorization here we go: Road tourer. All-Road. Gravel Grinder.
It’s also nimble and more than able for fast fire-road rides with the right tires. There are plenty of tires to attire your Sam from gravel-grinding cross tires to light and zippy road slicks to bulletproof commuters.
Everything that makes it a great touring bike also makes it a great commuter, camper or all-rounder. The Sam is equally a great bike for a carrying food and camping gear and clothing around.
Sams are/have:
Tough steel frame
Comfortable seat
Handlebars within reach
Rack Mounts in the right place
Fender Mounts in the right place
Room for big tires
Wiggle room for those big tires
Room for the fenders
*If the ad is up, the bike is available.

Small Holdsworth Special in fine shape. 51cm ctc. Eclectic array of components. Shimano 600 cranks, Suntour Superbe Pro derailleur, Suntour Superbe brakes, Stronglight headset, Campagnolo shifters, ITM bars, Mavic G40 Wheels. Quite a rare bike.
