Columbus Treks are the bees knees. And I love the downtube decal on this one.

FINALLY an unmolested one, He's been inching the price down; it was twice this price two weeks ago:

Kind of wishing some of these were bigger. I've been itching for a single speed mountain bike and have always had a soft spot for triple triangle GTs. Hard to find for someone who rides 60-64cm frames though. Plus I really don't understand traditional mountain bike sizing either and catalogs aren't the easiest to find.

Only contributing the topic, not contradicting you. I thought the same, but put 56cm after seeing Trek catalogs of the era list both imperial and metric. One example: https://www.vintage-trek.com/images/t...0Trek3_150.jpg

This was cool to see:

I sold this bike probably 3 years ago to the current seller.

It was my first ever road bike that I got in college. I had it powdercoated, and changed most of the drivetrain to a mix of Claris and Sora indexed 8 speed. Looks like this guy never really rode it, as judging by the overall condition. The replacement stem and lots of seatpost extension it looks like it was probably too small for him as well as it was for me

It's a 58cm 1987 Schwinn Tempo. Mavic CXP22 rims laced to what I remember to be Formula hubs, 10 speed cassette.

I would kind of like to have it back, but I know that it wouldn't fit me that well so it wouldn't get ridden. I'd rather spend the money on one of my other bikes that needs some love.

Schwinn Tempo $140

I thought the same until I got to the bottom bracket picture. Ouch, how could somebody do that to a custom built bicycle.

Fuji Touring Series IV 1984 $225

This has been sitting for a month now, so if you're tall enough to ride it, you can probably talk the price down.

https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/bi...976815793.html

1984 Fuji Touring Series IV 64CM/25IN size. Hard to find high end Fuji touring bicycle. All original in good condition. This is the largest frame size and you will need to be well over 6 foot tall to ride this. Stand over height is around 35".

If you go by the number of larger frames on craigslist, you'd think we were shrinking as a species!

Note: I'm aware that these spend more time listed because of the size. Otherwise it'd be a cinch to find my size when I go looking. The only reason I'm able to find anything my size is because sellers list the wrong size or no size, and I ask for it nicely.

I know this is all true. But if I woke up tomorrow morning to find myself magically transformed into 6'3" to 6'5" individual, in a few short weeks I would have the most amazing C&V fleet you could ever imagine, with nothing costing over $200.

Word. Every bike that catches my eye is either too big, too small, or a million miles away.

I messaged the seller and told him I'd be a serious bidder for this, but I'd need some better pics. That pic is so bad, I'm beginning to think its intentional. You cant really tell anything by that pic. You cant tell if it has a headbadge, has been repainted, frame dents or anything. Color me dubious.
