1993 Bridgestone RB 1 59cm ORIG - $600 (Attleboro)

Date: 2010-06-08, 4:31AM EDT
Reply to: sale-njvf5-1780957968@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Bridgestone "road" bikes, particularly the legendary RB-1, combine frame design taken from classic Italian road bikes of the '70's with excellent Japanese workmanship and functional, reliable parts. The RB-1 was extremely popular with racers, and held its own against competing models costing hundreds of dollars more.
The RB-2 had the same geometry as the RB-1, but with slightly less expensive tubing and considerably less expensive parts.

The RB-3 was a low-end model, of little interest.

This is the 1993 RB 1 model, the second to the last year that Bridgestone was selling bikes in the US. It has the rare Ritchey designed Bi-plane style fork crown which was only used on the 93 and 94 RB-1s. The tubing is Quad butted Ishiwata Croston 022E.

It's one of the cleanes RB-1s I've seen yet.
Shimano 600 front/rear Derailleurs/shifters
Shimano 600 Sealed hubs
Cinelli Giro handlebars
Ritchey Force quill stem.
170mm Sugino cranks
Continental Gran Prix 4000 700c23 tires
Stella San Marcos ponza seat
Includes correct era AVOCET computer

Extremly lightweight road bike.

$600.00 or BRO

Only willing to trade for 80s BMX or freestyle bikes.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule an appointment to view.

I do not know if this is a good bike. I just know that it looks to be my size, and is an hour away.

Did you buy this bike? I picked one up last week (but came w/ new Campy wheels). Original wheels were Araya rims w/ Sanshin hubs.

This looks like a Fuji Touring Series IV/V that was sadly turned into a ss. What was he thinking?

Fuji Singlespeed - $275 (Albany)

Date: 2010-06-07, 6:39AM EDT
Reply to: sale-mdg2u-1778877878@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Classic quad-butted cro-moly frame ('70s-'80s) built up as a singlespeed. GT bullhorn bars, 42 x 16 gearing. Great city bike that could also go fixed-gear, or built up as a road/tourer/commuter. Frame feels about 55cm--it fits me at 5'8." Flat pedals included, ready for toeclips and straps. I can throw in a pair of SPDs, and a second handlebar if you're interested.

Cash/bank check, local buyer only.

I never had a chance it seems. wrote to the seller but never received a response, and the listing has been deleted already.

Just to let you know, all Terry's are not created the same. They are farmed out with thier spec's. I just sold a Tiawan made Terry. It did have nice components but the steel was poor.

Here's a Paramount for $375, maybe.
https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/bik/1780224006.html

The seller doesn't even know how many speeds the thing has or what the stem is called, but somehow he can tell under all of that old paint exactly the year and model of a high-end bike.

No. That's likely a much lower end model. Unless somebody replaced all of the good parts with low-end parts.

Beautiful Trek 750 for a reasonable $295 in SF Bay area. I seriously considered it even though I have too many steel Trek's, including a 750 I'm thinking of selling . This is the rare classical lug style before they went to uglier socket style.

Vintage Raleigh Professional - Nice! - $1000 (Wakefield)

Date: 2010-06-09, 12:50PM EDT
Reply to: sale-ebzwd-1783254514@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Vintage (1972, I believe) Raleigh Professional in very nice condition for sale. This is one of the only (or only?) year that had the fancy lugs, and it is really a work of art compared to the bikes without them. The bike has minor superficial rust under the top tube brake cable clamps and cable (a minor professional touch-up job), but otherwise the bike is pretty much immaculate: the chrome looks almost new and most components look almost NOS. The bike has full Campy Nuovo Record, with bar-end shifters, high flange hubs and a vintage Wrights leather saddle. It is mostly original except for the wheels, brake hoods and bar grip, and freewheel/chain. The bike measures about 51cm (c-c) for the seat tube, 53cm for the top tube, and has a 30 1/2" standover height. $1000
