beautiful.I kind of hate posting the one below, but it is from a different area, and buyer might take less,as it looks like it needs some work.
Another Klein but a Quantum Race" bike from the mid 90's frame size: 55cm . $285 located in Roseville,CA

Both should be from the factory in Washington.

I am constantly searching for those type of frames. I have a couple right now, but none that size. You're definitely right, BG. That frame has got drop-bar conversion written all over it.

I'm betting the paint job has a lot to do with it.

The other one, with sky blue tubes and white accents - exactly the opposite of this one - is one of my Grail bikes. But I never see them come up for sale. Here's a photo from an earlier thread by BF member, @jeirvine :

(I hope he doesn't mind me using it here for an example... What a beautiful bicycle!)

I have to wait until I sell some bikes before I resume my search. But someday...

It sure does.

I picked one up at a garage sale, swapped the drive train with pretty fresh XT, put on a front Wald basket with a Swift Sugarloaf bag and Schwalbe Fat Franks.

Makes an awesome urban assault/fishing machine for peanuts.

Competent fire road bike as well.

The trick is finding one that's cheap and isn't beat to death.

BTW Be patient, you'll find one at $100 or less.

A Rivendell on the el cheapo budget. imho

Thanks! Your bike is a fabulous example of the breed. Maybe you can help me here... My Super Course is straight guage 531, and it's a wonderful ride. Is the (double-butted) Gran Sport significantly different?

1969-1970, The Raleigh, Nottingham, England Super Course Vintage 10 speed bicycle.
Wilmington, NC · 2 hours ago ·
$100We have a 1969 to 1970; The Raleigh England supercourse vintage 10 speed bicycle. It has the original leather saddleback seat. The tires are made by Schwinn. There is not a thing wrong with this bicycle, and it rides like a champ. We are asking 100 dollars for it, but because it is vintage, and like new (considering how old it is), we are accepting the offer from the highest bidder..

They are both great looking bikes for sure but you can almost see all the miles and history that bike has on it and the other is just too pristine for me. There is a certain je ne sais quoi about about classy looking older girls I have always loved. I need to put 1000mi on new rebuilds before I really like the look of them.

Indeed. Someone with a '72 Super Sport, and a '64 Sport Super Sport might want these for the bottom bracket/cranksets, (at a fraction of the ask of course). Because that someone might have found one of these BSOs once and realizes every other aspect of them is utterly useless. Nice bend to the bars? Of course they are steel. Until I chanced on one of these I had not realized Shimano made some "Dura Ace" components from a lead/steel alloy heavier than uranium. The pedals are weighted to right themselves. They weigh more than some of my bikes. But the BB/crankset...

But no, I will not bite at that price.

I will see your Huffys and raise you a Peugeot, with an unbroken Simplex Delrin FD!

Vintage Peugeot w/Brooks Saddle - $140 (Fuquay Varina, NC)

Posted 2019-12-24 14:26

"Vintage Peugeot UO-8 road bike built in France in 1972 and imported to the US during the bike boom of the ‘70s.

All components are in excellent condition, including Simplex Prestige derailleurs (no cracks), Mafac Racer brakes, Rigida 27 x 1.25 chrome rims, Normandy hubs with Simplex skewers, Atom freewheel, Nervar crankset, and Lyotard 36 pedals with toe clips/straps.

Wheels are true, and all bearings are sound. The Brooks B17 Saddle is firm and comfortable. New tires and inner tubes, handlebar tape, and brake & derailleur cables/housing.

Frame is 57cm (22.5”); with stand-over height of 31.5”; rider fit range approximately 5'9" to 6'.

Call/text my cell show contact info ), or email me if interested.

Thanks for looking!

-Martin

bicycle frame material: steel

(And no, you don't want the UO-8, and I don't want the UO-8, (even for the Delrin FD which would nicely replace the broken one on my orange TdF I have yet to thank you for posting here), but someone might want the UO-8?)

I have owned two of the white with blue Grand Sports. I no longer own either of them. I thought they were just okay bikes. I do like the looks of the blue with white versions though.

A few recent finds if anyone is looking.

Looks like a reasonably nice PX-10 frameset with unmolested dropout: https://www.ebay.com/itm/383341979997

Vitus branded 979 frame, looks like it needs a fair amount of cleanup, I think it's about $150 too high realistically, but still semi-interestingly equipped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254464975544

This Romana - I'm familiar with Romani, but not Romana. Frameset looks like nothing outrageously special, mid-60s maybe?, but posting more because of all the Gian Robert and Balilla hardware, despite it being well-worn. I think price is again probably $150 too high, but what do I know?: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254465005471

This Moulton is awesome: https://www.ebay.com/itm/202863988207

Maybe just novel, NIB Trek 800: https://www.ebay.com/itm/153776020636

King of Mercia at what seems like a reasonable buy-in price if you're hunting: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303419492005

Another Mercian, pretty damn nice, again, seems like a reasonable buy-in if you're looking: https://www.ebay.com/itm/223816971232

Vintage Dancelli: https://www.ebay.com/itm/124023428435

Fairly nice looking Olmo: https://www.ebay.com/itm/143477186996
