NC Is A Red State
1974 Raleigh Super Course MK II vintage steel bicycle - $135 (Wendell— East Raleigh, NC)
Posted about 5 hours ago

"Raleigh Super Course MK II for sale. Fully functional and in great mechanical condition. New brake/shifter cables and housing recently installed. Drivetrain shifts smoothly with Huret shifters and derailleurs, and both Weinmann centerpull brakes stop firmly. Some wear to the decals, but the red sparkle paint is still quite lustrous.
This is a size 54cm frame (measured from center of crank to top of seat tube), would be a good fit for someone between about 5’4”-5’8”, with a standover height of 31” (just shy of 79cm).
The Super Course was near the top of the line for Raleigh from the 60’s through the 80’s, and is built with Reynolds 531 steel, the benchmark of tubing most higher quality bikes were made from, combining lightness with strength. It’s a great ride and nothing beats the feel of a good steel bike, but I need something a bit larger.
Asking $135, you can reach me through the Craigslist email relay. I’m not available during the week, but am available just about any time on the weekends. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Thanks for the offer! I thought I was heading up to the Cape this morning to help my folks out for a bit, but now heard it won't be until later this week. Seller had a second person lined up for this afternoon, but I didn't want to lose it, and felt reasonably confident offering him a PP deposit. He was fine with that and will wait for the balance and me to pick up the bike. I'll be going Wed. or Thursday. It adds about an hour and a half to my trip, depending on traffic and exact location. Barely a hiccup in the hunt for N+1...
Again, my thanks, Eric

Trek 950 Ventura CA, $125.00

Seems like a pretty good deal but i am sure it is not a 26" frame. I can facilitate.

27" Centurion tall guy bike $130
I bought my 85 Raleigh Super Course from this guy, Frank, last year. Nice old fella, lives in a tidy trailer park (think Cocoon). Seems like a good deal but way too tall for me and Frank needs a better camera! Interesting water bottle. I appreciate that he always notes the stand over height, so many get the frame size wrong!

I think previous poster above is correct, it's probably a Kalloy installed on the bike above.

I think this bike is priced way too high, I'm only posting because it's oddly reminiscent of this bike, albeit clearly not the same steed.
I loathe how casually sellers toss around "very rare" in listings.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Git...e/352956908697

Some may want to watch this Tommaso, although who the heck actually knows where the reserve is? I find a lot of ppl seem to reserve at 2x to 3x the list. Looks nice anyway, at least as much as one can deduce from the absolute craptastic low-res photos

"This was 1 model behind the PX-10 in the catalog, therefore I shall strip all of the most expensive parts off it and sell it to you for the high-end of what you'd pay for a PX-10 frame & fork in the same condition!"
It's in great shape and all, no doubt, but that's basically what they've done and it's not much of a deal. New crankset will set you back $75 in shape as good as the frame. Expect to drop no less than $90 on suitable Criterium or SLJ derailleurs and levers (or Campy NR if you wanted to go that route). At least $40 on the seat post. At least $60 on the Mafac brake set and levers, probably w/o the half-hoods. Good luck finding a Normandy hubbed wheelset, there's another $100 at least. Now add in consumables and pedals and seat and ... now you're in it for over $500. Just go buy a PX-10 for $250-350. I just got one in my size and fairly original for $225.

And here's a classic example: $225 BIN on this PR-10 with updated drivetrain and came with a freaking boatload (good $100ish) of stuff. It sold in less than 24hrs. Not terribly unusual, and just goes to show the seller linked above is way overpriced!
