The decals are applied over the paint, likely by a previous owner. I thought it might be a Raleigh, but the lugs and fork crown don't work out to a model I'm familiar with, and there's no obvious heron headbadge. The only clues so far are the obscured headbadge, lugs, crown, and braze-ons. There's still a derailleur hanger but no shifter mounts which points to a stem shifter setup. It was probably a good candidate for fixie duty.

This Trek 5000 OCLV carbon has been sort of hanging out on FB Marketplace for at least a week or two for $250. Either the seller hasn't removed it or market is slow. Seems like a really fair price unless I'm missing some info on these... (probably not quite vintage either but w/e)

It is an amazing deal for someone even without the original fork (turn up on eBay regularly) if the frame is intact, but I'm not going to be driving back to the Cape for a while, I hope! I'm based in NJ a few miles N of the GWB.
I have a solid rider condition Kestrel 200Sci, that I use as my rain/indoor/powermeter(ho,ho) bike.
It is the curves of the Aegis and the clamping bolt, that I lust after to incorporate into a specific project.

I did the same and have regretted it from the day I dropped off my 1985 Trek 410. I admit the geometry wasn't going to work for my 67 year old body, but I owned it for almost 35 years, since new. I wish I would have just stuck it into a corner and forgot about it rather than give it away. It's a mistake I won't make again.

As for the CF Specialized, It was also a size or two too small, although the components were well-sized and it nearly fit. I just didn't like the way it felt. Light and wishy-washy. I'm used to metal bikes, I guess. Anyway, it had a full Campy 9spd group with 170 cranks I wanted, so I picked it clean, popped in an old used-but-good Shimano sealed BB, left the steam on it, and donated it. Someone will no doubt thoroughly enjoy riding it, just won't be me. I got my money's worth! Only paid $50 for the Trek and got $150 in parts I needed, paid $100 for the Specialized, got a full 9spd Chorus ergo group out of it, which is more than fair.
Co-op gets my windfall in complete framesets, every time.

I have a plan to resurrect the frame (seriously). If it fails, then yes I do, (though I was getting ready to ask if anyone knew where I could get a frame to go with my bolt).

I tried a couple years ago to source one direct from Aegis, but no luck. I suppose that if I were a private detective, I'd be able to track down enough people who worked there to get the lowdown on any parts caches hiding around the area.
