It's amazing how bad some fixie conversions turn out...

And it could just be the angle of the photos, but the fork looks suspicious.

If this was my size and the RD hanger was still in place I would already be breaking it down for a rebuild.
I think its the angle of the photo but an up close and personal would verify no damage or yes damage.....also never seen an "El" Champion so it might be very unique.

It looks to me like the RD hanger is still there, if you go to the ad and enlarge the first pic and it gets bigger too.

Tx!

Yep, 58's have fallen off the grid for me unless, somewhat rare, obscure, cheap or very desirable, 60's get alot less consideration as well.

Here's the thread on the Strawberry.

The old and the new, the ying and the yang, the good, bad and the ugly, you decide.

The fork looks kinda fatigued if not crashed, $90 isn't a horrible deal if it's all still in alignment.

Slightly new for C&V yes, but that's a fine bike with 3x9 ultegra. As they say around these parts, Koga road bikes are "très recherché". Second hand touring Kogas don't stick around our shop for very long.

^^^^^^ Both that Super Sport and the Motobecane are just crying out to be made back into bicycles again. Poor things. I guess we all need to know that someone needs to charge her/his battery, too, eh....

Here's one you don't see every day. But once again, an ad composed as if he's expecting two digits, not four. Not sure how it can have "full Durace" (evidently it's 1978 and he's paying by the letter) and a "Ritchey drivetrain" (whatever that is) at the same time. And we're seeing a little too much of this guy's bachelor living room, esp. given it was a w arm sunny afternoon today. Is that ask price even in the ball park?

Beg to differ. At the age of five, I addressed a letter to my grandparents in Durham, NC, and spelled it "durm," without zip code. It was delivered. Of course, Durham was only 75 miles away, so the post man may have had an unfair advantage.
EDIT: Just noticed now that the O(-ish)P referred to the seller's brilliant spelling. Duh.

Tommasini in Hollywood, CA. Seen better paint jobs, like that wild rust-inspired one above.

Campy Delta brakes C-Record crank, campy parts as far as the eye can see ... but a Sun Tour RD????

$1800. I think the seller needs to knock about $1000 off of that price, otherwise this bike will still be sitting here a year from now. Oh, and someone tell them their seat post is too high.

Another year actually. Seller has been posting this bike for 2 years now. Started at $2200.

Fieldstone foundations and sometimes dirt floors and Cthulu-like boilers from the 1940s... My mom's place has a concrete floor, but a gravel French drain around the perimeter.

Beautiful bike. I bet that RD shifts better than the C-Rec or CdA that would match the group better. Maybe wider gearing choices too

Guess I should have known that it would be the perfect Bianchi Girl bait bike.

This Super Sport has been sitting for probably a year, I'm not sure if it's one of the years they were good or not, but the price is right, at 80 dollars:
