A bevy of Gran(d) Sport(s)es on CL this weekend

54 cm C/C https://louisville.craigslist.org/bik/1807998417.html

23“/60 cm https://sacramento.craigslist.org/bik/1803521577.html though it looks smaller to me (maybe it's the 27” wheels); it's also on eBay now
https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

1963 (claimed), looks on the small side frame-wise https://kansascity.craigslist.org/bik/1808165707.html

And a nice Follis in NYC, which I could facilitate, a “tarck” project that got stalled, but doesn't look drewed https://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/bik/1808797926.html

Thanks to our own Bob Hufford, posting on the BOBishBikesFS mailing list. If you read this thread, you should subscribe to that list too.

This appeared on Cambridge Freecycle. I've been watching for 4 years and never seen something like this.
I am out of town, there are a few bike people watching Freecycle who are pretty fast, and I have to get rid of 15 bikes
before I think about bringing in something new.

To: freecycleCambridgeMA@yahoogroups.com
Subject: [freecycleCambridgeMA] OFFER: Shelves, bike, and baby swing
Date: Jun 26, 2010 6:08 PM

The shelves are the Ivar model from IKEA: open sides and back, unfinished wood, about 7 feet tall and 3 feet wide. We have the pieces for 4 separate units with 30 shelves to be shared among them. We have used them both as bookshelves in the living room and storage shelves in the garage. The wood looks fine as is, but can easily be painted or stained.

The bike is a pink Georgena Terry Chrom model 10-speed from ~1989. It's a small size, good for a girl or a small woman. The frame and some parts are in good condition, but overall it needs work.

The swing is a Fisher Price cradle swing. We're not sure exactly how old it is (probably 5-6 years), but the closest current model is the Ocean Wonders™ Cradle 'n Swing.

Components are a mix of 105's and 600's with Miele rims. Colnago made the bike under the Saronni name after the Italian bicyclist Saronni won some races.. Please look up Saronni for the complete history. This is a high end bike from the early 80's that is real fast!

Italian Road Bike, Columbus Frame, Time Carbon Fork, Campagnolo Chorus - $995 (North Easton, MA)

Date: 2010-06-26, 9:12PM EDT
Reply to: sale-gdcfh-1813036766@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Classic Bianchi road bike in excellent condition. The color is Celeste (seafoam) green with chrome chainstays. The high quality hand-built frame was made in Italy. Today, most Bianchis are made in Asia. It has lugged construction, which is extremely rare these days. The tubing is butted Columbus Minimax, which is composed of Nivacrom alloy steel. Columbus is the leading maker of high-end bicylce tubing and is used in many exotic (and expensive) bikes. The frame is very light for a steel frame. I bought the bike brand new and have not ridden it often. I own several other bikes and have very little time to ride. I have not ridden this bike in over 5 years. It has never been dropped and the frame has never been repaired. The components are Campagnolo Chorus 10 speed. The components have very low miles on them as I did not ride the bike much after I upgraded them. By the way, although Campagnolo has moved on to 11 speed and is no longer selling 10 speed groups, they are still manufacturing 10 speed components and 10 speed parts will be available for many years, just like 9 speed parts were. The bike has always been stored indoors and has never seen a drop of rain. It has a Time carbon fork and also comes with a Campagnolo Record headset. The handlebars are Cinelli and it has a Profile quill stem. It also has a carbon seat post. The wheels are hand built with Mavic Reflex rims and Campagnolo Chorus hubs. The wheels have 0 miles on them since I had the bearings professionally re-lubricated and inspected and the wheels trued. The tires are Michelin Axial Pros with Celeste green trim. The frame measures 55 cm., center to center. I am about 5' 10 1/2" and have a 32.5" inseam and the bike fits me very well.

The current bike in the Bianchi line that is closest to the one I am selling is the Dolomiti. The Dolmiti's frame is made of chromoly, not Columbus brand tubing, and it has lower level Campagnolo Athena components, rather than Chorus. The Dolmiti lists for $4,999 and is not made in Italy.

The photo below is not very clear. Please drop me an email or give me a call if you would like me to email you higher resolution photos. I also have a Campagnolo Ergo-Brain computer that is not included in the price, but I will sell it at a low price if the buyer is interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or call me at (617) 416-1008. Thank you. Mark

EBay ad for ’73 Raleigh Grand Sport. $150, and 3 days to go.
This one isn't mine, but I happen to know that these are really, really nice bikes

(I hope that one of you wins it ….)

1973 Raleigh Gran Sport-Vintage or good for fixed gear

I see many fixed-gear freaks LOVE this frame, but collectors also treasure it. The decals are pretty shot, but I believe new ones can be found on ebay.

Basically, the bike is totally original, except for the Campy shifter and derailleurs, but I have the (almost unused) original Simplex offerings.

I have a very detailed set of photos at:

It's a trendy effect, a Photoshop filter that mimics the look of a 'tilt shift' lens. Real, hardware tilt/shift was actually intended to help you get MORE in focus, but...whatever.

I like shallow depth of field (focus) myself, but what's the point of having the bike itself so small in frame? Your photos are the commercial, man, show the goods!

The reason is depth of field, not sure what kind of camera was used, most point & shoot digitals are limited in their apertures, typically f/4 - f8 it's taken in the shade, so the camera is probably wide open, it's taken from a little further away so the camera lens is zoomed to it's longest length resulting in a depth of field (the area that is in focus) of maybe 2' or so, which is why the foreground is out of focus, the writing on the downtube (the camera's auto focus was probably aimed at the writing) and the background is out of focus. It's not the camera that is broken, it's the idiot behind it.

Thank you. Mark
