One of history's worst-named bikes. Mis-categorized as a "hybrid", no doubt on account of the street tires. Nothing special, but mid-level quality, and the price is pre-pandemic:

I just came in here to post the bike I picked up today. Dude said it was a Motobecane but no markings at all. Open this post and see the same bike. Ended up getting it for $40. Wheels are a little rusty and not sure I have salvage this Brooks saddle but I'm gonna try to bring it back to life. Now I'm gonna have to do some research on this thing.

Wowzer! These were all recalled for a problem with the bonded frames. This thing should not even be on the road, although I also had one. This is a Comete with Euro components and I had a Galaxie with Shimano 105. Same frame, and this one appears to be in very nice condition.

Peugeot PSN 10 - $350 (Des Moines)
Super Vitus tubes are nice, don't see those pop up too often either.
https://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/b...161554741.html

Beautiful and rare champagne colored 1985 “Mont Cenis” model sporting most of the original components. Has been stored/displayed for years and time to let it go. Very light for its day sporting Super Vitus 980 tubing, Campagnolo Triomphe cranks, derailleurs, Modolo Speedy brakeset, Mavic rims, old Continental 700x20 tires and excellent original Vetta saddle.

For whatever reason it switched to PSN in 1985. I think this was right when Peugeot (at least in the US catalogs) was shifting from their old model-number system to the more standard "just call your dang bikes a model name and print it on the top tube like a normal person" system.

First thing it's NOT the exact same bike, not even sure if it's French let alone a Moto, despite the paint scheme which would mis-direct you. Whatever this is you sure did good to walk away with it for $40, but as for ID I'd be thinking "British" (maybe Falcon? EDIT, now thinking more like a Raleigh Gran Prix) so...check into the threading of BB (examine the cups for markings) and the fork (what sort of headset?) plus the seatpost (what size)? However that stem sure looks like it could be FR!
I think the seat post is on the smaller side. Tried to measure (pic posted) but is kinda hard with just the standard measuring tape. I need a set of calipers.

A big ol lot of hybrids and MTBs in Seattle at $150 a pop. The Raleigh Technium and Gary Fisher seem worth a peak for sure, and I like the decals on the Bridgestone Citylimit

Could be the start of a nice build for a smallish rider:
https://madison.craigslist.org/bop/d...162443052.html
Same seller (you can recognize the dungeon background) has a few other items, including a mid '80s Trek bare frame for the same price as this. BARE, not even a fork, paint is shot, still $75.

Came across an Etsy store with lots of NOS and modern reproduction head badges for reasonable prices. Vintagebikestore on Etsy.
Just asked them if they could do a Koga-Miyata one.
For example, here is a classic brass Batavus head badge but it was made in 2017:

Probably a bit overpriced due to the lack of original parts, but a nice old Trek in the category of "bikes that are hard to find because they share the name as a highly desirable vintage MTB", also with a fairly rare decal set. Also I think the original spec of this was SR, not NR.

531 Trek for an actually reasonable price. A bit beat up but not terrible:
Trek classic road bike $200

"Classic Trek. Reynolds 531 frame with mostly Shimano components with Cinnelli bars, stem and Campy/Mavic wheels. Local pick up."

$500 for this? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...4031776519516/
It's rare I ever find anything with a small frame - so I like to give them a good look, but... thoughts?

Columbus Cromor tubing. 48cm (CtoC). Shimano 600 components with the exceptions that the brake levers are Shimano 105. Condition is pretty good for the age and has never been restored. Some of the decals are a little rough. No scratches or dents. Minor rust at the brake cable guides on the top tube. New tires, tubes, and rim tape. Needs a new saddle (original). This bike is a great ride – especially at longer distances. Asking $500. + shipping.

Humble straight gauge CrMo, but Bridgestone clout for not much money. The pillar seatpost was OEM- oof.

Not My Bike - Too Distant For Me To Facilitate
2 Vintage Schwinn Road Bikes - $150 (Kernersville)
Posted 2020-07-27 13:17

"Two vintage mid-1980’s Schwinn road bicycles. The owner was very particular about his equipment and the bikes have been well-cared for and protected from rain. The wear on these bicycles is almost exclusively due to several years of disuse.
Asking $150 for the pair
bicycle frame material: alloy
bicycle type: road
condition: fair
electric assist: none
frame size: 22 Inches
handlebar type: drop
make / manufacturer: Schwinn
model name / number: Traveler/Voyageur SP
suspension: none (rigid)
wheel size: 27 in"
https://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/...166859763.html
(Seller, who seems like a nice enough bloke, re-measured the Voyager SP for me. It's 22 inches c-t which is an uncomfortable inch too small for me. I've continued to try to talk myself into shrinking since reading the listing when it first posted. Does not seem to be working.
Edit: And he doesn't have the front rack.)
