Vitus 979 w/mostly Shimano 600 parts. I noticed a Specialized skewer on the back. Would be nice if that indicated the hubs are Specialized. I will ask, as I'd be happy with those wheels if someone wants the rest of the bike.

I've considered doing the "picture of text" thing for my listings simply because so few buyers will actually read the description. They just look at the pictures and send me messages asking questions that I clearly answer in the description (e.g. "what size is this" or "are the tires ok" for a listing where I specifically say it has new tires and give a frame measurement with recommended rider height range).

If they're not going to read text, they're not going to read a photo of printed text. For anyone with that sort of attention span, you'll need to post photos with arrows pointing to the parts in question, and very short annotations like "Good" and "New". Or maybe emojis.

"For sale is a specialized allez road bike. I have owned the bike since 2012. The bike has always been kept inside and has no rust. Frame is 520 Reynolds steels. Ultegra components. Was previously been set up as a SS but currently has a rear derailleur and a 9-speed cassette. I removed the front derailleur and large chain ring when I converted it to a SS and never replaced them. Solid bike and could serve as a reliable commuter for years to come.
Full disclosure, the head set needs new bearings and the seat is “frozen” in place. The first issue could be remedied by a mechanic. Not sure what can be done about the second issue. Despite these issues the bike can be ridden safely as is."
