I guarantee the first thing I'd be doing is melting down that fork and buying a proper Reynolds fork...it could be orange for all I would care.

$30 for that bike is an awesome steal.

I can comfortably straddle the top tube of the 66cm WorldTraveller with a light touch but I'm afraid even I would risk some bruised body parts on this frame. I could probably still ride it though.

Colorado Springs Gitane Allure Auction Ending Tonight - Currently $10.99 - SOLD $12

1970s Gitane Allure on Colorado Springs Shop Goodwill auction ending tonight at 9:14 PM local time. Current high bid showing is only $10.99(although that bidder may have bid more).. This SGW does not ship bikes so would have to be picked up or arrangements made. The auction will likely end in a bargain price due to no shipping, Sold for $12 + $5 handling.

https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/107602178

I have two wheelsets I purchased at this SGW that I need to figure out how to get them to a FedEx store so they can be packed and shipped. If anyone lives in that area and would be willing to pick them up and drop them off at FedEx Office store (the former Kinkos ones), I would be happy to pay them,

1983 Trek 520. Not the primo tourer that the 520 evolved into but still a nice bike. Needs some TLC. Asking $250 but it has been available for a while...

I'm trying to figure out what's going on with that handlebar and brake lever. Like a moebius drop bar.

I'm seeing the rear brake lever wrapped in bar tape and then what looks like a light near that bar end? Or maybe the bar was sawed off?

On the other hand..if the link is alive..there you go.

If the link is dead..well..it was XO-2 that was for sale and no longer is. Not so complicated. A pic doesn't change the sale.

Perhaps next time I'll skip the effort entirely..easy solution to avoid any angst.

That's the spirit. While you are at it, may as well not do anything for the community at all, like posting anything. Too much work on your part.

@fishboat and @J.Higgins

Just my two cents.

Perhaps another justification for posting photos and the ad blurb is it helps with pricing (either our own bikes for sale or seeing if a sale is a deal or not)? True, that specific bike might be sold but at least we have a reference point.

If you search on here for a certain bike, the description will come up with the advance search and then you can check the last time someone had one for sale and what they were asking. You can also compare the photos with your bike/the bike you are looking at, to see condition for valuation.

Not sure if that is the original purpose of this thread but that's why I check it...

Good point and I fully understand this and agree. I was late for an appointment this morning and figured a very low price on a sought after bike was at least worth the quick post I did. At $150..it was a lowball price and an outlier in any assessment of an XO-2's value.

..as for other comments..I've reached an age where I'm ...less accustomed... to my knuckles being slapped with a ruler. Just add another (too amped up on morning coffee) to the ignore list and move on..
