San Francisco alert! Local pick up only Panasonic Touring Deluxe, extra small.

These are really nice. Pretty much same bike as Panasonic made Schwinn Passage of same year, I believe.

How is this still there, not sure but if it was any bigger or closer, I would be stripping some gears trying to make it happen.

american builder, now deceased.
i missed a few deceased builders when their bikes were cheaper.
I tried to contact the seller couple of times, non responsive. Looking at the pictures of the Romic has me wondering if the brake calipers have enough reach for the 700 wheels.

So instead I had a USA Raleigh with Phil Wood hubs in my sights, until further inspection. The red and yellow had some rust formed at what may have been a crack at the seat tube cluster joint of the seat stay.

The blue one is a Nashbar triple triangle.

Great older steel frame road/touring bike around 56cm size. Nishiki’s are legendary Japanese road bikes. Got plenty of gears for cruising or climbing hills, bar end shifters, attachment points for a rear rack if desired. Everything is in pretty dang good condition considering it’s age (barely any rust or scratches) and when it’s tuned up it’s fast and furious, but it needs a little work to get it going again. i recently replaced brake pads, new tubes, and cables/housing for the gear shifters. brakes could probably some use new cables, and there’s something up with the rear wheel hub that makes it difficult to spin the wheel. the price reflects the work needed, but this is a great bike you can use for pretty much anything, shoot me an offer!

There is a TV show called "Stranger Things" and currently there is a Maxsold Auction on in LA selling bikes associated to that film and stage stuff and general photo shoot props. Auction ends Monday after 8pm.

https://maxsold.maxsold.com/auction/...612.1609718709

Maxsold requires local pick up and will not hold items, you have to pick up when the pick up date is scheduled. That date is Thursday, January 7 2021 10am to 8pm, though you can book a pick up time. Based on that, most of can't make the sale.

There is a nice looking bike in the show which is currently at $36 (+ fees and taxes). Trek, maybe???

Just for fun - anybody recognize it?? I have done very well off these type of auctions but a) it don't fit and b) If I could get to LA I wouldn't be shoveling snow....

Trek seems unlikely. I don't recall seeing a TIG welded steel Trek. Maybe real late 520s when they were basically only doing Al and CF?

My 760's seat stay caps cracked. Trek was willing to provide a replacement (lifetime warranty and my lovely wife had the good sense to save the receipt), but at the time - 2008 or so - the 520 was the only steel frame they still made, and it wasn't like the classic lugged Treks of yore. ISTR it might not have even had a horizontal top tube. I'm too lazy (and haven't had enough coffee yet this morning) to search around for archival images of that bike. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong...
