I have no idea what this is but would be worth it just for parts. Unusual frame and drivetrain setup.

It’s a lotta inches too small for me but I’d have run to get it. I’m gonna guess it lasted about 20 minutes in Portland.

I picked this up at 10:00 AM today. Not sure what it is other than a mess.
Girlfriend was not impressed with the condition.
Stay tuned for a thread.

58cm-Bottecchia Italian race bike-XL - $850 (Holly Springs)

Posted 2021-01-21 20:19

"Selling my Vintage Italian, Colombus SPX Steel bike. The bike is great condition for it's age; everything is original and in excellent riding shape.

The bike is from the early 80's. It has a full Campagnolo groupset. And Campagnolo récord hubs with Campagnolo Montreal Rims and Continental Grand Grand Prix 4000 tires.

There are a few scrapes and small chips the paint consistent with a used bike but they have been touched up with matching paint and clear coat to keep it rust free.

The bike was recently serviced and shifts and brakes smoothly.

Fits riders 6'0" to 6'4"

bicycle frame material: steel

bicycle type: road
frame size: 58cm
make / manufacturer: Bottecchia
model name / number: Professional
wheel size: 700C"

1973 Nishiki Competition - $300 - West Michigan

I'm intrigued by this bike--love that it's been well cared for by the original owner (who still has the kickstand and pedal reflectors!) since 1973--but am going to pass at this point. It's just a few miles away from me, and I'd be happy to help if anyone wants it.
https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/b...265813364.html

One question from a relative newcomer to C&V bikes. Is it unusual for an early 70s bike like this to have bar end shifters? I suspected that maybe these were a later "upgrade" but the owner states that all is original, and on closer inspection it looks like there are brazed on cable stops on the downtube.

I wouldn't consider it unusual on a Japanese bike. Cable stops on the down tube from that era indicated stem shifters or bar ends.

I had one of these (but mine was called a "Semi-Pro" still had the same features and components IIRC) and I believe the SunTour barcons were stock. That quilted-top saddle looks like OEM, too...it's a relic from the time machine!

Yep, very cool SEAMLESS Japanese Unicnitor copy in excellent condition, if that was a Uni, the $$$ would justify it for that alone.

Centurion Ironman in one of my favorite paints. For tall riders, price is a bit high but according to the seller, its mint.

Paramount in Louisville, KY. Fairly reasonable price at $800 vs. the asks I usually see out there - bike's in decent condition judging from the pics.
